Thank you for your post Itsadogslife.
I don't know why I'm such against contacting CCCS, I've only ever heard good things about them (good in a debt busting sort of way!!) and people say how they feel the weight lifted of their shoulders once a DMP has been put in place.
I honestly thought we had got it all sorted but between my OH doing his ostrich impression and me having this cold bug thingy we seem to have lost track, and with Christmas being just around the corner too I'm up the creek without a paddle at the minute.
On a plus side (if there is one!!) I have put loads of bits and pieces in the local paper (if all sold would make £110), and I'm going to put some stuff on ebay tonight........but have got to clean bathroom first.

Oh what a morning!!!!
I have been sent home from work because I'm so ill (still!!!) but once I got back here I didn't feel too bad so decided to update our finances and that's when it all started...................I cried abit, then a bit more, and a bit more after that. I just couldn't stop. I then decided to go onto the CCCS website and complete the debt remedy by this time I was sobbing. I've done some crying in my time but I'm sure never to the extent I have this morning.
I called CCCS as I couldn't find when to put the petrol costs in (through the tears!) and I was by this time quite composed until this poor guy answered the phone and that was it.....I was off again, sobbing my heart out, heaven knows what he thought. How bizarre.
Feeling drained now but on a plus note I called my OH at work and he is coming roung to thinking that CCCS is our ticket out of this mess. We will go through the figures again tonight and then take if from there.
I think he should call them in future though, I'm too embarassed after my oscar winning perfomance this morning.
Work have said have today and tomorrow off so hopefully I can just chill out and shift this bug once and for all.

Thank you Beat The Debt.x
We have contacted CCCS to start our DMP, just waiting for further instructions.
Not really sure how I feel today with regards to our 'debt', a little relieved, still anxious, a bit ashamed that it got to this stage and hopeful that we will be on the right path.
I think this cold bug is finally on it's way too and I will go back to work tomorrow. I haven't really done much at all today, just pottered about.
Will start new lists I think, list of things to do for christmas, around the house etc etc. That should help keep me on the straight and narrow.
Thank you to all who suggested contacting CCCS, I should of listening to you in the first place. xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

We have received the info pack from CCCS.
We have opened a new no frills bank account (well started to, just got to wait for paperwork), have taken copies of all our CC statements and loan statement but have just realised that the loan for the car is actually a hire purchase agreement so I understand that that will have to be paid. There is 15 months left so maybe this will be one of the first things that are paid off as apprently we have to keep paying this in full.
Our account won't be set up in time for our wages to go in next week as we have to give notice to wages department, so the guy from CCCS suggested we take all the money out next friday and put it straight into new account. Not sure how the best way to do this is, we can only draw out £350 per day. My OH's wages should be easier to sort as he is weekly paid.
Still feel aprehensive but at least the cold bug thing has just about gone. Will be so glad when all the paperwork sorted and the DMP is all in place. xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

Hi Alice, well done for being brave enough to face things head on. I would imagine that the people at cccs are used to peoples emotions getting the better of them. I work for a family lawyer and I am sure the biggest part of my bosses job is a sympathetic ear, I think compassion would be part of their job description
This is the start of a new journey for you in finally managing to get things sorted.
What about writing a cheque for the full amount? XxxJust keep swimming!0 -
Thank you itsadogslife, yeah I hadn't thought of a cheque, see my heads all over the place.
My OH got paid today and I'm not sure what I should be doing with this money. CCCS advised to get some postal orders ready to send with the letters to the CC companies, so can I assume it's OK to pay them a token amount out of this weeks wages as the DMP is not fully set up or do I not pay them anything??? I'll have CCCS on speed dial at this rate.
We do need to pay the car loan on Monday and mobile phones are due over the weekend so to be fair that doesn't leave a lot anyway.
Not looking forward to receiving phone calls chasing money, I work in an open plan office and everbody can be working away but as soon as you take a personal call everybody stops what they are doing and it all goes quite whilst they listen!!!!

Do you think you will be receiving these calls on your mobile? if so turn it off whilst at work or at least turn off the ringer and clear or ignore any call that is from a creditor or an unknown number. If you do feel the need to answer a call is their and where more private you could take the call so you are able to be more discreet?Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Baileys Babe - some maybe on my mobile so they will be quite easy to ignore, but if any call my work landline number where anybody can answer the phone they will shout across the office who it is and then somebody is bound to 'google' them. There will be ten pairs of eyes staring at me
. I just don't want anybody to know!!!!
I have got some questions for CCCS so my OH is going to call them tomorrow, glad he is finally on board.
I wonder how long this sick nervous feeling will last. Not til our debt is cleared I hope.....7 years and 10 months!! xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

My OH has contact CCCS to advise them that the money we owe for the car is a hire purchase plan so we will cqrry on paying on full this has revised out DFD to 15years......eek! But this should be reduced once this is paid off in 15 months.
Still waiting for paperwork to open new account. Had letters from 2 CC's chasing payment today, CCCS advised us to only pay £5 off each CC for now. No news on £50 bonus from work. So no further forward at the moment.
House work done so will put the tree up after tea. That should cheer me up. Hope we've done the right thing by contacting CCCS, still feel so apprehensive, I hope I feel better once all sorted.xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17
