  • I have managed to put 8 items on ebay, but the trouble is now I keep going on to the web to keep an eye on them!!!

OH went to DIY store and there was a bathroom light (which we do need a proper bathroom light) in the 'bargain bin' for 1/3rd of the price so he's got that for when the bathroom is finished......which will hopefully be today :)

Also we have been 'skip rats' and ask the couple up the road if we could have the 4 gardens chairs out of their skip, nothing wrong with them, they are moving abroad so allsorts of things been thrown out but weather is terrible here so would look pretty desperate if I did go and have rummage................wait a minute I am pretty desperate.LOL xx

Not at all - you are recycling, being green, right? Seriously though, we had a skip when we were doing our house up last year, and were only too pleased if someone wanted anything out of it, because once it is full, you have to pay again and have it replaced with an empty one  If people 'recycle' stuff there is less to pay out :D
  • I love going through skips lol :p they empty out houses round here all the time with things that people have just left behind and there is nothing wrong with it! I got a brand new double pushchair out of one a few years bk! :D

    xx

  • Had a lovely walk to the park this morning, kids just having lunch :)

Just found out that OH doesn't get paid until Friday this week, will double check the budget/spending diary as the 12th of the month is when the car loan and mobile bills are taken out of account. I really don't want to dip into our emergency fund.

Bathroom still not quite finished.......nearly there:(

Bit slow on my ebay stuff :(

Hope you've all got a bit of sunshine.xx

  • Oh Alice you are good putting things on ebay. Only DVDs and CDs left really and they tend to go for so little I refuse to let them go :o

I have to admit to not being a skip rat yet, but I am becoming an ever increasing visitor to charity shops and the car boot. I remember a time when I would buy all of my clothes brand new from shops like Next, River Island etc. Now the only new things I ever buy come from George or Mr Ts :o
    Just keep swimming!

    Hi Alice,

I get obsessed over checking into ebay every 2 mins too, plus ive got the app on my phone which makes it even worse!!

If you do dip into the emergency fund at least its only for a day and will save you going overdrawn xx

  • Another busy day catching up with friends who I only get to see when the kids are on holiday. Had everybody round here so although the house did get a bit messy at least I didn't spend any money.

Have had chance to double check bank account and fingers crossed it looks like it will be OK...phew.

Hair cut for 3 of us tomorrow but so far have had 5 NSDs this month.

Meal plan hasn't gone to plan as we've had extra people for lunch and tea. Need to revamp it a bit.

Still plodding on with the bathroom.......just got to gloss the door, door frame and skirting. Then decide on the flooring.

On the weight front have piled on a few pounds I can feel it. I have been more active but have consumed much more alcohol than normal recently. I must get back on track!!!

Have posted letters to Building Society re exit fees and to the Store card re PPI, fingers crossed we'll get something back. Would love to be able to take the kids to the seaside at some stage, even if only for a few days. xx

  • Finally got back on track after a hectic few days. I was out and about yesterday (unnecessary spending :(), went to the park, then into town and popped into the cheapy shops and seemed to spend a small fortune.

I have updated budget/spending diary this morning, wrote a small shopping list, put 2 loads of washing out, another load in the machine and tidied kitchen. Think I should do the ironing next as there is a mountain of it.

OH is going to finish bathroom today.....yippee. When we do our carboot sale (which should be next weekend weather permitting) I will look for a mirror for the bathroom wall. We need to do carboot asap the house is a right mess with all the stuff hanging about. Ebay stuff doing ok, bids on 5 items, I'm going to try a put a few more things on tomorrow.

The dogs pet insurance is up next month just had the renewal quote - £184 that is with sburys, although we get double nectar points on our spending a sainsburys (got about £100 in nectar points over the year) I'm going to have a look around.

NSD's for April so far - 6.....not too bad but could do a lot better. I'm feeling OK at the moment, feel like I've got a bit more control of things in general, just got to make a big effort to lose some weight!!! Hope everybody has a good day. xx
