Stay well and safe Alice. Very envious of those chocolate eggs2

Thanks MTGs and Brizzle. The eggs are long gone.....ooops.
It’s been a pit of a pants weeks this week, if I’m honest. We’ve made it through safe and well and that is was counts. I had a blip on Wednesday. I think this was my day when everything felt so overwhelming. I felt frustrated and that things are out of control. I snapped at the kids all day. DS3 isn’t putting in a much effort in to school work as I think he should, and he attitude is just awful. DS2 just sleeps in until early afternoon, and that was aggravating me. It’s ok being a home but I am working so can’t just down tools and get on with the housework. Trying to keep our parents safe, make sure they are OK. When OH came home he just said ‘what’s up with you’ (as you know I don’t get much support from him but we won’t got down that route) in a sort of sarcastic way. What I really wanted was a hug and someone to tell me everything is going to be alright. This will pass, DS3 will catch up with his school work, DS2 will soon be getting up at a reasonable time, and the house will be clean and tidy, and most of all we will all get back to some sort of normality.... but I didn’t get that. OH went and had a shower and I started the tea.
Don’t get me wrong the kids do help with the housework, and so does OH but on Wednesday I just felt trapped. Anyway went to bed, got up Thursday morning with a more positive attitude. This isn’t a woe is me post, although it probably sounds like one. We are very fortunate and I am very grateful for the position we are in.Now I’ve got that off my chest, back to business this morning. I’ve been shopping, very calm in the supermarket this morning, just had a cup of tea and half a packet of biscuits....because that’s going to help with this weight gain!! I’ve put £100 into the emergency/savings pot so really pleased with that. For birthdays I’ve just been sending a card, not put any money in, no present, just a card. We’ve been trying to cancel DS1 mobile phone account with 3. It was in OHs name. Finally got through to a human, my word they did the hard sell, why were we cancelling the account, we should think about it first, here’s a better deal......if went on and on. Anyway OH finally managed to get it cancelled. Last payment would be this month, which they took, and now they’ve charged £17 fee. I think this was the exit fee that OH told them we wouldnt pay as we were giving them enough notice, and we have been with them for a long time (not that loyalty mean anything). They agreed they wouldn’t charge it. He’s going to see if he can speak to a human later today!!We are all going to chip in with some jobs this morning, just got to get the kids up” rolls eyes”.Stay safe everyone.

Another weekend, I think as strange as these weeks are they do just seem to fly by.OH has just got my goat this morning (but I am laughing). I’ve been shopping....how much has food gone up?!? Yes he did help me unload the car, and yes he was just putting a load of washing on the line when I pulled up, but then he took his coffee and went for a stroll around the garden. So I watched him for a minute and then I called him, and he sauntered back in. I said would you help me put the shopping away please. He said ‘I was just coming to do that’. I put the kettle of for a cuppa, asked he if he wanted another one, which he didn’t. I said I’d drink my outside. Anyway he started to stomp about, he emptied the rubbish and recycling bins, got the cushions for the patio chairs and went to put the umbrella up but it’s a bit too breezy for that at the minute. I was putting another load of washing in. He’s got a face on him and I’ve just said what’s up, his reply was a stern nothing. To which I’ve replied “I only asked you to help me put the shopping away, not climb Everest in your underpants”. Yes that was sarcastic but he was acting like a spoilt teenager I couldn’t help myself. I am now in the garden, it is chilly but inside I am laughing my socks off. Totally immature, and some would say I’m as bad if not worse than he is for being sacastic but.....We’re going to do a bit in the garden this morning, OHs idea. Kids have cleaned their rooms, I’ll do the bathrooms later. Perfect pegging out weather today. I love seeing the sheets on the line.On the money front, Apart from the mahoosive shopping bill this morning and petrol they were our only spends since last weekend (apart from normal house bills).I’ve managed to get £20 off my aa membership which is due next week. I’m really pleased with the emergency fund/savings pot as well. I would like to get that to say 1K. Still plodding on with paying the debt too.Hope everyone well, and keeping safe.

I find it hard that the house just is constantly messy. Cant be helped at the moment i suppose. DD1's head of year called yesterday and we had a good chat. I was complaining about DD not wanting to get up etc and I think its pretty normal with these teenagers! Then part of me things, they are teenagers and we wont get this time again. Sorry to see your OH is giving you a hard time. That is exactly how I feel. We’ve never experienced anything like this have we. I feel your pain with the house. Very true what your DDs head of year said. I stupidly thought DS3 would bounce out of bed, breakfast, showered, teeth brushed and skip down stairs to crack on with his school work......not a chance. He is doing the work that is set but blimey it’s been hard work. It’s better now I’ve chilled a bit to be honest.Take care.

I don’t want this diary to be about my relationship with OH. I won’t leave him so I do just normally put up and grit my teeth. Following this mornings little tete a tete we did get loads done in the garden and yes we had some laughs, everything was ok but just to let you know what he then did this afternoon.I’d arranged that we could FaceTimed the oldies in their home, so the home messaged and said were we available and we’d do it then. OH has just gone to play on the game console....yeah I know but whatever floats your boat.....anyway when I called up the stairs to him, I waited on the stairs and I heard him moaning that ‘he never gets to play, he can put even pause it, he’d have to start all over again’, again stomping again. He didn’t realise I’d heard, so we spoke to the oldies. It is so heartbreaking so I was feeling emotional anyway and after I did say (yes I probably should of just let it go) to him why did he kick off coming off the games console to speak to oldies. He said he didn’t kick off, I said I’d heard him, to which he replied well yeah I moaned but I didn’t kick off. I just shook my head and went to prepare the tea. It’s sad really but not going to let it get me down, just wanted to put this on here today....back to normal from now.
Enjoy your Saturday evening.

Another long weekend, I got up mega early this morning, I’ve done the weekly shop - £112 this includes cat food/litter, toiletries and alcohol. Just got one load of washing on the line today, another perfect day for pegging out. Kids cleaning their rooms, and living room yesterday. I’ve done the bathrooms this morning. The side in the kitchen is turning into a dumping ground again so will sort that out later. We’ve been watching the VE celebrations this morning....I always cry, anything like this I always cry. Christmas carols - cry, salivation army singing - cry, national anthem - cry, anything along those lines get the tissues out. But it seems more poignant at the moment.OH and the kids put some bunting out this morning. I’m going to set the table up outside for afternoon tea.Spends this week (apart from normal bills) have been the shopping this morning, £30 petrol and transferred money to pay for my works lottery as that is still carrying on....We can dream. Added more money to the savings pot. The car insurance is due at the end of the month so I will be able to pay that in full.
Take care, stay safe
