Hi Alice, don't feel guilty about the chippy tea :). It was budgeted for, it was still relatively cheap, and the food in the cupboard/fridge/freezer will still be there to use tomorrow. A little of what you fancy and all that....... x

    Debt-free and Proud!
Agree with M2G and others Alice..I have had a carp week MSE wise..lots of realising I have been blinkered..despite my efforts...but the £11 I spent on pizza and a drink at the pub for DD2 and I yesterday was money well spent. We all need a bit of a treat sometimes ..the trick is to appreciate it and not take it for granted...and I think most people on here now really appreciate the small things in life!

  • Brizzle, Mummy2girls and HappyNow thank you for your posts about the fish and chips. I never thought I'd appreciate fish and chips as much as I do now......a real treat :)

DFW321 thank you, everybody else seems to be sorted just bcard don't wanna play!!!

We have been to a christening today and had a lovely time. It was lovely to see some friends we'd not seen for years, it's amazing how the time flysby. After the service we went back to my friends house where we had BBQ, the food was great and loads of it........so we have all came home full.....no cooking for me today :)

Managed to get into the garden yesterday and do a bit of tidying up, OH cut the grass and it looks much better now. Really cheered me up to be out in the sunshine. The house is a right state mind but I'll get to that when I can over the week. Going to do ironing tonight so at least that is out of the way.

Ended up do another run to the supermarket yesterday so have over spent a bit this month but will get that back in April. Will send OH to the shops with a list and he always keeps to the budget. :)

Hope everybody has had a great weekend.xx

    Hi Alice,
Been neglecting the diaries a little these past few days, been pretty busy as I can see you have too.

I can sympathise with your shower stories, I have told DD1 that if my water rates bill goes up any higher due to her 30 min showers, she will have to pay the difference !! Was that a bit harsh ?! :rotfl:

Dont worry about Barclaycard. We have defaulted all over the place, but noone has yet come knocking ( well only the Inland Revenue, but they dont count and were very pleasant ), but certainly none of the Credit Card Companies, so try not too worry about that.

Also agree with everyone else, it sounds to me as though the Fish and Chip supper was thoroughly deserved, but I also am suffering terribly from guilt at the moment, even if its in budget but a little luxury or treat, I will lie awake telling myself off until I eventually wake Mr Pinot with my huffing and puffing and gets all annoyed and talks some sense into me ! Glad you enjoyed the Christening and BBQ, hasnt this weather been wonderful , although I did feel a bit silly going to the stables with DD2 in my flip flops on Sunday. It is only March after all !!!

Glad the Aldi sauce went down a treat. Mine havent complained about anything from Aldi at all !

  • Pinot I know what you mean about feeling guilty. I start to feel guilty about spending money, then about the money I have spent over the years that has got us into this mess and the feel guilty about the money we haven't got (if that makes sense). Its like a emotional merry-go-round. Although I haven't felt too bad over the last few days....must be the sunshine.

The one thing they won't eat from A1di is cereal, no matter how much i try, i even put the bag of cereal into a different box but they still sussed it out.......fussy lot!

Today and yesterday were NSDs, I've lost my tally for the month. Will start keeping track better next month.

I am bracing myself for April as I know its going to be tough, start paying council tax and water rates again (after a couple of months break) and the kids have got 2 weeks of school. I'm going to really keep track. We also need the boiler looking at...eek.

Looks like another nice day tomorrow.xx

Alice, that all makes sense to me, my mixed up muddled brain totally agrees with the merry go round of thoughts you are experiencing. The one thing I have stopped doing of late is getting angry about why this all happened ( whats done is done now) , thats what I keep tellign myself and that has helped me feel a ittle bit better ( obviously as I'm sure you have seen I have my moments!) . I get angry still by certain events in the last few years that made the situation even worse, but Cest La Vie and all of those silly comments. We must really focus now on getting through this. I, for one have learnt some hard and fast lessons and although I dont think we were ever extravagent spenders , there were many things we could have done differently . Oh and the sunshine does help with my musings !!

We will get there Alice by Hook or by Crook and we sure will celebrate ( very frugally of course) when we do !!

Ok as if I havent gone on enough this evening , must mention the A£di cereal, mine say that you must eat it as soon as the milk goes on, not leave it for even a second as apparently it goes very mushy very quickly, so you must eat like your life depends on it !! They have all got the nac now and its like feeding time at the zoo as they try to beat the mushiness descending !

March was my panic month and I am nearly through it, but only just. We still needed to pay the council tax as we are behind, but I havent quite found the money needed for that one so I am bracing myself for THE letter !
