Called into @ldi tonight as we were the other side of town, for some flowers for my friend. Picked up a Very nice salad which was reduced (not so,wing I would normally by, prepared salads) which I just fancied for tomorrows lunch, cat food, dishwasher tablets and a few other bits. OH was packing the bag a promptly squashed the salad and the container came open and half spiller out.

Yes it was probably an accident, he's not that malicious but he just stood there. Didn't say oops sorry I'll get another one, he just shrugged and didn't say anything. He makes me so mad when he does thing like that. It's like he doesn't care.....perhaps he doesn't. But heaven forbid his 'special' crisps got squashed......ggrrrr. And yes it was only pence but that's not the point.....rant over.

I've been doing some work in the garden the last 2 nights, just to stop me eating everthing in sight the minute I walk through the door. Don't know what's the matter with me. Permanently hungry but hardly starving. :(

    Must tally up NSDs!

We've been advised that our DD to E0N is going up £14 per month. I'm still convinced there is something wrong with the boiler. It hasn't been right since we had it serviced. :-(

Busy weekend, DS3 went to a birthday party. We gave money as a gift. The mum of the party boys was a woman after my own heart......no party bags full of tat and E numbers :rotfl: and they cut the cake whilst the kids had food and used it a dessert. Very MSE.:T

Went shopping at sburys and just got absolute essentials.......and snacks for tonight's game.:D Then we are eating out of the freezer this week.

Need to get back into money mode.

Haha V, no choice here unfortunately, they're into all sports in this house, football, rugby, squash, cricket. Lol

Hope everybody pegged out today, fabulous drying weather today.:T

Strange week the fridge still has food in it. :rotfl: We've had really light teas this week as everybody has been too warm and too tired. We've got some fruit a little past its best so going to have a go at smoothies tomorrow morning....well that's the plan anyway.

We are at a wedding on Saturday, not sure how much cash to take as we are there all day. Will probably take some snacks and drinks. Also need cash for gift.

Paid the window cleaner and works lottery today.

Happy Sunday.:). I'm currently recovering from yesterday's wedding celebration. Beautiful couple, fabulous venue, fantastic food, bar was a tad expensive but nevertheless a great day. Although I did feel a tinge of sadness and that I'm not good enough when we left as we had the oldest car in the car park. I suppose we should look at it that it may the the oldest but it ours and paid for.:o

We did spend nearly £70 yesterday :eek:c I know I know. Plus DS3 had to have new footwear in the morning. He usually only has schools shoes (which his have worn out and we're not replacing this close to end of term) and trainers for football. As he doesn't have shoes and his trainers just not suitable for event/venue so he had new casual boating shoes.

We currently have £184 left in the account from OHs wages. £45 in savings. OH has gone to get some paint for the shed and fencing panels (next door replaced but said we can paint ourside). Also he's going to @ldi armed with a list. I think the bill will come to about £40.

Everyone has stripped their beds this morning, first load has gone in to the machine, a bit disorganised this morning. Going to run the vac round, sweep the patio, clean bathroom/loo, we have friends coming round to watch the game this afternoon. Then we're having a Sunday lunch later. We were going to do a BBQ but to be honest even when everybody brings a food contribution we always end up spending loads of money, so just supplying snacks this afternoon.:)

It's very frustrating when they wear out school shoes with weeks until the end of the academic year. When DS was in his Primary days, I used to buy trainers that looked very similar to shoes, so he wore them in the summer hols too. Couldn't do it once he went to Secondary because the uniform code was too strict. Definately helpful when they finally stop growing!

We too, were at a swanky do last night, in a fab hotel with fantastic food and wine at the table. It was a friend's 50th and my DH also balked at the price of drinks which was coming in around £10 a round, with just the 2 of us. When we left we went to a nearby town centre pub and the same round cost a fiver:D Just as well I'd supplemented our bar bill by drinking plenty of the table wine. :rotfl: Don't feel bad about the car, no one knows others finances and if we'd been there you'd have thought we were one of the ones with the 'posh' car when the truth of it is, it's DH's company car and there's no way we'd afford to have it otherwise.

My washing is currently pegged out and another load is on. ;)

Me too. Loving the drying weather.

Don't feel bad about the car Alice. Or anything. You're on the final straight now and the end is near. Then you can start to cautiously spend more on stuff you really care about (like more prepared salads ;)). You're a fantastic role model for your family and for us. Your resilience and optimism is legendary.

Have a lovely Sunday and hope the match goes the way we need it to... :) (now that Germany have rediscovered their form!)

    Thanks Spendless and brizzle.

I've never really got the kids loads of pairs of shoes. Even when they were little they only had one pair until they grew out of those. Then they had a pair of shoes and wellies for their first few winters. Always had their feet measured and fitted correctly though.:)

Your both so right about the car, and it's certainly not that I'm being a snob or anything like that. I suppose eventually we'll have a car we can just get into and it will run like a dream.:)

The weather has been fab for getting the washing dry......dare I say it almost too hot. :o. I've been drying the washing at night. I'm never happy am I.:rotfl:

OH spent £37 in @ldi last weekend. I've had to do a top shop in sburys tonight, spent £52:eek: Haul did include toilet roll, conditioner, fruit, snacks, yogurts, cereal, milk, bread, eggs, meat for sandwiches, pizza for tea (too hot for anything else), squash, beer, :o

Also had to get petrol £30.

Major spends coming up are school holiday club for DS3 and high school uniform for DS3. Don't think we are having a holiday as such, we've got a few big social events coming up so thinking if we can extend one of those to a weekend away that would be something.

We're off to support the carnival this weekend, and friends special birthday.

All sounding positive..well done. Hope the carnival is fun.

Should have kept quiet then about Germany regaining their form then..they promptly lost it!! ::eek: I am told its the curse of being World Champions by someone who is pretty encyclopaedic on such matters....
