Thanks V. I need to either write or go into a branch of S@ntander to sort it out. Can't wait to get the next 'paid off' letter.
Had a bit of a road trip today, so had to get petrol. Called into shop to get flowers and cookies to give to my friend and her family. Had a lovely day but the car only just made it. I've been looking at replacements. I could probably get £750 together over the next month but this would be all of the emergency fund and every other penny we have spare. OH going to speak to mechanic tomorrow.
Scrambled egg, beans and bacon for tea. Simple but effective.
Nothing planned for tomorrow.
Xx

Well I guess that's what the emergency fund is for. At least you have it.
Fingers crossed.

True V, I still struggle with having 'money' albeit just a few hundred pound and in an emergency fund.
. But thank heavens we have it at the moment.
What a palarva couple of days. I decided to go to the out of town shopping complex on Thursday, only to breakdown and had to get the recovery out. The car couldn't be fixed so decided to tow us to the garage. On way I started to feel ill, you know what you start to sweat and go very very hot.......all I can say is that recovery man would of been so relieved when his shift was over:eek: I was 'ill' in his van, so embarrassing. Recovery man called OH who met me at the garage, got me home and in bed and I got up this morning. I think it was just a bug like the kids had had but blimey I felt rough.
Although I'm much better now, the car is going to cost at least £400.. OH gave the recovery man a 'drink' for the inconvenience. I'd of given him a million pounds if I had it.
Today I've just sat about, OH has done some tidying up in the garden and the kids have done their bedrooms and vac'd around the house.:T
On the money front, I need to update spending diary and budget. Yesterday and today were NSDs.

Happy Saturday :j
Finally feeling human again after the recovery vehicle incident.
What a week, we're up to 5 NSDs, car cost £495 in the end. Now it has its MOT in a few weeks, it had better pass. Emergency fund currently has £45 in it.
Have done the meter readings this morning, first time for 4 weeks and we've still spent £20 per week. I'm wondering if there is a problem somewhere. We had the boiler serviced not so long ago so not sure. We are still -£90.97.
We've got a quiet weekend so going to get some jobs done and have some chill out time. DL is coming over later, will be great to see him.

Morning Alice,
I just need to say thank you for inspiring me with the 'pegging out' I've always been a fair weather pegger outer, but since reading you diary I've been 'taking the risk' and it hasn't failed me yet.
I am so much calmer and happier not having washing hung up in every room in the house for days on end, which doesn't dry inside becuase the heating isn't on.
In the winter, when the heating is on it all sets really quickly as we made a minor error with the size of the cast iron bathroom radiator which means our bathroom is a sauna all winter.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)

You poor thing! How embarrassing and feeling grotty at the same time. Glad your oh was able to collect you and look after you.
Fingers crossed for the mot. It's great that the dl is still on friendly terms.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
Grim. hope you're recovering now and taking it easy. Sorry to hear DS is not coming home, but great that he has work experience. Do think about the graduation. Some things are more important than a DMP...
Its not great pegging out weather today as overcast but am going to do it. Especially as I used a racey 60 degree wash for some whites....if the sun comes out hopefully it will bleach them nicely. Havent used a wash hotter than 40 for years.... :rotfl:0 -

Hi wish, aww lovely post. You know what they say.....if in doubt, peg it out!....... I am very sad and do love to see the washing on the line in a slight breeze. Would love a long line with wooden line prop like my Nan used to have. :rotfl:
Hope your pegging out success continues.:)

Hi V, I can laugh about it now but at the time it was pretty horrendous. OH wasn't fazed by it at all, but he's been a real pain the last few days.
Miss DL to be honest. Really hope he stays on the straight and narrow.

Hi brizzle, thanks I've recovered now but not from the embarrassment of it all.
If I can keep focused I am going to try my hardest to get to DSs graduation. we might have to make some tough decisions on who goes but will cross that bridge when we get to it.
We've had some great drying weather, but dare I say this almost too sunny its dried it to a crisp if I havent got it in soon enough. Steady on with the 60 degrees washes.Must admit I do do the odd one.
