This is great news...agree it would be good to have the balances so annoying that your account has been suspended, but presumably you can find this out over the phone with SC?

    Nice one, EE..

    Hi Alice,
Stepchange should send you a list of balances, what you will need to do is get the creditor account numbers and sort codes so you can set up the payments direct. I did ask for them when I wrote to each creditor but still had to ring half of them as they are not all very good at reading letters!

    Thanks for the posts.:)

I shall call SC tomorrow and ask them for a list of balances. OH said they didn't mention anything when he spoke to them. I've got all the last statements from the creditors (some aren't recent), so will ask them to confirm account details when I write go them.

What do I do with bcard? Pay them a £1 or pay £51 which should trigger the 0% interest.

Did the meter readings and we are £55 in credit.

Got bus money for DS2 ready.

Can't believe how much food DS1 eats!

    DS3 needs £5 sponsor money.

For me £51 sounds like too much of an exact amount - I would be going with either £25 or £1 and saying that I am building my emergency fund.

Remember that the financial statement you send to everyone does not have to be the same one - there is nothing stopping you manipulating the figures for individual creditors but you will need to remember what financial statement you have sent to each!!!

Hi EE, I would like to go for a £1 for bcard, everybody else I was going to pay the same as through stepchange.

I should be able to print the letters tomorrow.

Although I'd got all the latest statements ready there was one account - OHs MBNA (originally Virgin I think), transferred to PRA that I wasn't sure of the reference number. OH called them tonight, what a nightmare, they wouldn't answer any questions regarding the reference number or account/sort code (I asked him to check whilst he was on checking the reference) until he had answered over and above what I would call usual security questions. Where he worked, full time or part time, did I work, how many children, did they have an income. I managed to tell him not to answer any questions and he came off the phone non the wiser.

There is a sort code and account number on the back of a the latest letter from them. But the reference number is different from the previous letter.

What's best to pay? Through internet banking or go onto their website and make a payment there?

Have tried to call stepchange for a list of balances yesterday morning and today before work and today at lunch time, just couldn't get through. OH said he will try tomorrow as it's tricky for me to call in work hours tomorrow.

Today was a NSD number 4.

I would use the newest reference number for now and pay on the website.
When they reply to your letter they will mention if you are using the wrong account number and tell you the right one.

Paying on the website will mean you have one of their receipts as proof just in case.

    Good luck with letters Alice

Thanks for that info EE. Think I'm panicking, need to take deep breathes!!

It's feels very scary brizzle, but I've got to do it.:)

OH did get in touch with SC today. (I know I can't believe how involved OH is). Very helpful guy on the phone apparently, they are going to send information regarding balances, payments over the last 3 months and the reference numbers they have.

Feel better now I know that info is coming.:)

  • It's all go here......we've received the info off SC. This is the situation (balances outstanding) -

    Bcard - £4629
Cabot (Yorkshire bank cc) - £3666
    Capital cc - £2645
    PRA (Bcard)- £1126
    Bcard load - £889
    Stantader cc - £856
    PRA (MBNA) - £714
Cabot (Yorkshire bank account) - £87

    Balance £14615.

It we carry on paying £475 estimated free date is November 2018.

I've received a letter form Bcard reminding me I am behind with my payments, need to pay £52 now and then £120 before 5/7. Interest charged last month £48.

Apart from Bcard (the big Bcard amount) everybody else will be paid the same. Will pay Bcard £25, they won't be happy.

On the money front, need to pay child care for this month, council tax (due on the 18th), DSs flights (mega money will share cost with DS), normal petrol cost this week, £20 for bday gift (special bday, special person), £80 on food, and we've got a meal out in a few weeks (have checked website thinking £80 inc drinks).

Managed to peg out this morning, done housework, off to bday party tonight (max spend £20).

    Hope everybody ok.
