I saw the weather forecast was good for today so I planned the washing for today and got a load ready to peg out before I left this am. Happy to say everything was dry this evening. Had a doubt when we had a few spots of rain just before it all went out but it didn't "develop" and we had glorious sun and breezes too.
    I could get into this...
    I'm blaming Alice!

I am so jealous Verbatim, I did think about pegging out this morning, it was still drizzling but the forecast was becoming dry, I didn't risk it. Great that you got yours dry.:)

Have had the heating on for a few hours tonight. Today was NSD 2.

    Just plodding.:)

  • Definitely no pegging out today. No sports club either for DS3, he's full of cold and has a temperature, OH and DS2 still gone though.

Spends over the last few days £25 on petrol, gave DS1 £100:eek:, went to £1 shop at lunchtime yesterday (some folk at work reckon they'd never shop in 'one of those' stores so I love going back into work and working out the savings....out loud:D), £60 in supermarket (went to @sda, it's in the opposite direction to home when I leave work but thought I'd try it and see).

Have transferred £29 into emergency fund.

    Still only on 2NSDs.

Have done meter readings we have used £40 in two weeks. .....combination of having the heated aired on (overnight) and having the heating of a few times.

I am pushing to the back of my mind a comment a very close family member said to me. I feel like I've disappointed them, also been feeling very frumpy and unfit just lately so will pull myself together and sort myself out. It's funny I feel that we are finally getting somewhere financially (apart from bcard!!), can see the figures reducing but at the same time don't feel like we progressing in other things. Our house needs some major maintenance and I suppose because we both work etc etc some people expect us to be getting on with these jobs. Can't wait for the spring/summer to be here and we can get outside. I'm sure the people I work with don't help, the guys are fine but some of the women are toxic. Thankfully it's mostly men in my team. I shall rise above it all and keep plodding on. :)

DS has gone back to bed so will start some housework.

  • I have just read the whole of your diary - it has taken about two weeks - but I am glad I did. It is astounding to see the changes and progress you have made in four years. Inspirational.

Take no notice Alice, you don't need their approval. You are doing amazingly well and making fantastic progress so you should be very proud of yourself. Unless it's an emergency, I'm sure the house maintenance work can wait a bit longer. Don't put yourself under any more pressure than you have to.

No pegging out here either. The sun was shining when I woke up this morning, jumped out of bed, looked outside....sunshine and rain....what's that all about.:rotfl:

Hope you're having a good weekend brizzle.

I know Dolphin, it's all about keeping up appearances and all that (hope I don't sound shallow:o). Keeping our debt a secret, it's a juggling act. The cosmetics jobs the house needs we will do this year, but other jobs that need skilled workmen ( and the most costly) will have to wait another few years.

  • Did loads of sorting out yesterday, have got loads for a car boot. House feels clean and tidy.

Yesterday was a LSD, OH spent a few pounds at the football. He's gone to get a new locking petrol cap for the car, not sure if somebody has tried to break into it or it's just worn out.

Av0n stuff came this morning, £4.

Off to do the ironing. Hope everybody has a good day.
