    Hi,
I believe all free dmp providers would also treat all creditors fairly. The only way to do it is to go self managed. This is what I am about to do but not for the same reasons. I am looking forward to taking control of my own debts again after 2 years with sc.

I guess being a charity they can't deviate from their rules, best to stride out on your own once the dmp is up and running if you want to play the creditors at their own games! I don't think it it is that hard to do it yourself with Nedcab.

  • Thanks brizzle and Puzzcat, after much thought I've decided to stay on the dmp with stepchange for February and March. See if SC have any luck with bcard, then I'm going to look at self managing. Very daunted by it all but think you're right Puzzcat I need to play bcard at their own game.

On the money front, have spent £45 in @ldi, £42 in sburys inc £10 for a gift. Had to get more petrol £20 after travelling miles for sports club. Spent £1.85 at match.

    Transferred £50 to DS too.

Forgot to do meter readings today...doh!!

Finished on 12 NSD's, start again for Feb tomorrow.:)

    Hi Alice,

I will keep you posted on how I get on. The only hitch I have found so far is the division of payments that SC do are very different to the way NEDCAB do it, but I am going to cheat and pay everyone the same as I do now..

I hope to be up and running so my payments go through my new basic bank account early March..

Good luck if you decide to do it.

Thanks brizzle, yeah totally true. I'm sure if I self managed I could reach my DFD earlier. It's just so blinking daunting. I've got a few months to get my head around everything.

Hi Puzz, don't NEDCAB treat all the creditors fairly? I would do the same...pay everybody as I do now...accept BCard.....then could I pay the extra off the smaller debts first to get rid of them??

Good luck Puzz, I will certainly follow your progress.:)

  • Today was NSD 1. Still haven't read meters, or updated spending diary/budget...doh!!

Have started to gather stuff for a carboot. I really can't do fleabag, I wish I could but it's a no. Thinking will do a carboot and what I don't flog give to the charity shop....karma and all that.;)

Tonight I have sported out some sports stuff. Please could somebody tell me why we had 20 odd sports bottles....you can only drink out of one at a time.:rotfl:

Have put some money in the leisure pot to cover sports clubs this week and lottery. Don't class this as spends as such.

  • Today wasnt a NSD, called into @ldi as we were about to run out of toilet roll (usually get sburys basic ones but didn't want to drive out of my way...false economy.;)). Picked up some other bits too, spent £14.

Updated my diary, last month we spent £376 on food/cleaning stuff/toiletries, £195 on petrol. Room for improvement on the food etc spends!!

One of our mobiles is with 3 on their £15 per month tariff, waiting to see if it's one of the ones they are increasing.

I have put £50 in an account towards DSs flights.....it's a start and £29 in emergency fund pot.

  • We haven't had the heating on for that last few nights (sneaked it on over weekend when we had company). OH is currently sitting in thermal leggings, jogging bottoms, thermal vest, tshirt, sweatshirt, scarf, beanie hat and his dressing gown over the top.

I agree it is is chilly in here but......:o

Washing on, will have to use airers, do miss pegging out. ;)
