You go girl..that seems robbery to me !

Exactly what I thought! I have called sky and they have said that it was mentioned to me when I called to cancel the sky tv. I can assure you it wasn't!! 'Unfortunately' the lady I spoke to couldn't help me, but suggested I send an email to the complaints department with the dates I called so they can listen into the call and check what I was..or wasn't told. Will wait and see.

Alice, I have stumbled across your thread today whilst having a quiet day (recovering from a nasty bug), and have been increasingly impressed as I read through with your resourcefulness, character and sheer guts for holding everything together in the face of adversity. Well done you, and all the friends who support you on here. :T I will be pm-ing you, please read it. :)
Thank you lutzi, hope you are feeling better today. I'm plodding on, and I agree, the people on here are great.:)
    Thanks for the message.:)

Also had a letter about my store card. As there has been such a long period of inactivity they are going to close the account. It's funny because I never got into a problem with this card, and always paid it off every month. Certainly won't miss it.

    Today was NSD 8. :)

  • Wednesday turned out to be a bit spendy, we all went to the pictures in the evening. Cost nearly £15 (even using orange wed), got some snacks from @ldi. Had a great family night. :-)

Yesterday paid lottery, childminder (for all day, all week eeek!), and put £20 in leisure pot. Haven't put any money in any of the the other pots though.

Today I've have given DS2 £5 to go to activity day at the youth club.

Had a reply from Sky, basically saying tough we will still be charged £2.50 for not having Sky TV. So we are going to look at changing provider but would really like to keep the same telephone number.....sad I know but we've had it for years.

    Still on 8 NSDs.

Got a bit of travelling to do tomorrow with DS2s sports club, so extra petrol will be required. Nothing else planned at the moment.

  • Pegged out yesterday.......and today, just hope today's stays attached to the line!!

Yesterday afternoon went sburys, didn't go to the butchers or @ldi (it's a bit out of the way)so got everything from sburys. Also picked up some trousers (25%off) not very MSE considering the pots are practically empty....but I did need (not just want) them.:o

This morning have taken the dog for a walk and washed the cars (with OH). I have to say he wasn't that keen on either but I persuaded him.;)

Still only 8NSDs but £2 pot upto £30 and 20p pot upto £22.60.:)

Noticed that the hair colour I use is 2 for £11 in sburys so will get 2 next week I think. Miss going to the hairdressers and having it done there but heyho.

  • Ironing all done, tomorrow's lunches all done, DS2s bus money, DS3s milk money and OHs football money (from leisure pot) all sorted.:)

We hadn't had the heating on Friday or yesterday but have had it on for a few hours this afternoon (also helped to finish drying the washing).

Bigs spends coming up - DSs school trip (balance of) and car tax x 2.

Hope everybody has a good week.xx

  • Thanks brizzle :)

Today was NSD 9 :) but I have got toothache :(

I have also noticed that now we have got rid of sky we aren't watching half as much tv. Certainly DS3 isn't glued to the box like he was (hmmm poor parenting! :o). We have 'acquired' a basic freeview box but even the channels on there couldn't arouse any interest tonight.

Had a tally up of 'vouchers', we've got £5 m0rr1sons, £4.50 t3sc0 and £10.71 n3ct@r, not a bad start to 2014.:D........I'm so easily pleased these days.

Hope the toothache eases, no money in the pot to sort it.:(

  • Don't want to dwell on the toothache as I'm trying not to think about it. Don't gave any 'spare' money until 13 march...once all the bills gave been paid, cars taxed etc etc. thinking about making an appointment sooner than that though as I don't think it's going to go away by itself.:(

Today was NSD 10 and I got 2 loads of washing dried on the line.:D

Alice I think you should definitely make an appointment as it could get far worse and more expensive if you wait. Are there any bills that could be delayed a little ? I have barely anything on direct debit anymore, I have arrangements to make most things at some point within one calender month therefore if an unforseen emergency ( which this is ) expenses pop up we are able to deal with them.

    Food for thought maybe ?

Well done on the NSD's they arent happening in my house at the moments that's for sure ! :o Thin you should win an MSE Prize for your commitment to the cause of NSD's ! :A

Thanks Mrs PG, The main DD we could 'amend' is the one to step change, which I really don't want to (obviously!), but can't see another way. The thing is as I haven't been to the dentist yet I don't really know how much it's going to cost. Our dentist is not NHS but I've been going for years and don't really want to change. Blinking tooth:mad:

I quite like the NSDs challenge ;), today wasn't one though. Had to get milk, bread, some fruit etc. will need to get petrol and some cash tomorrow too.

We've been doing well with keeping the heating off. Only had it on once in a week. Although OH still moaning about how chilly it is and sleeping in a sweatshirt. :o

Real pity. Oil of clove may help? Old wives remedy but apparently it works, for a bit anyway. PG is right you do need to book to go and pay later..

You are doing so well with the heating. Don't worry about OH moaning..my OH has to sleep in a beanie sometimes it's so chilly :rotfl:
