On the money front, I messed up the meter readings, thought the last reading covered 2 weeks but it was only 1 doh! Have checked them again this morning and we've used £27 over a week. Must try harder!!

Spending diary/budget updated....roll on payday for me, got to wait until the end of the month.

    So far I've had 8 NSDs. 20p pot up-to £13.80, £2 coin pot up-to £18.00.

Me and OH had a talk.......not a row last night. He doesn't know why he acts like he does, its like he went out one day and came back without all the good bits.

I asked him what he thought about a couple of majorish jobs that need doing around the house, the old OH would of been up for up, this time he just sat there and didn't say anything. I said I wondered if we could afford to get people in (which of course we can't at the moment) and he just sort of shrugged.

I've excepted the fact that he will never be interesting in the money side of things but surely he's got to have a general interest in our (or at least the kids) life and the things going on.

I don't want to make this a 'woe is me' read, I just want to get these things down on 'paper', it does help me cope and also for future reference.

One thing he did say was that he is always tired. He's now doing a much less challenging job so he's bored at work, he doesn't get much sleep (about 4/5 hours per night), he does a lot of exercise (biking to work, football, squash), his diet is not too bad so we are going to see if more sleep helps. I also said perhaps he needs more food because of all exercise he does. I'm willing to try anything!

It's a bit fresh out there but at least the sun is shining.

It sounds to me as though OH is feeling a bit down/depressed and maybe he needs to go to see his dr. Glad you are feeling more positive

Sleepless nights are a killer. Me and my DH have never fought so much as when I was having less than 8 hours sleep a night :o perhaps that is all it is? I hope so. Earlier you said you didn't want to make out that the rows happen because of debt but since we've become DF my DH & I row less, we feel more "solid" as a couple and we make up within hours rather than days/weeks. I think a lack of money affects you more than you think (did us anyway) we feel more stable now we have all the bills paid, savings in the bank...so it could be a factor with your DH, perhaps he's a silent worrier? Hope today is a good day and enjoy the new, free DW tablets :)

When I read your post from yesterday I thought the same as Granny.

With everything going on in terms of debt and keeping it a secret and now the possibility of no job it is no surprise he is feeling like he is.

As you know my DH has depression and he is often very down and non-communicative. It's almost like if he talks about it it is real but if he doesn't discuss it he can pretend it is not happening.

If he won't see his GP then more sleep plus seeing more of the daylight has to be a good thing (most people are at work during all daylight hours and lack of sunlight affects people hence a lot of people have SAD)

Thank you for all the posts. Sometimes I think I'm too close to see the things you've all suggested. I did suggest he went to the doctors. But this is the bloke who has only been to the doctors once in 20 years and that was to sort out having the snip.:o:rotfl: Sorry more information than you require. ;)

We're going to persevere with the 'getting more sleep' and to be fair yesterday and today he's been the best he's been for ages......perhaps it is a problem shared etc etc.

I've finally sorted the letter for the pru.........think it's an old pension policy that I'd forgotten about. Will post tomorrow.

Have got 2 loads to peg out (have put the 'smalls' in the airing cupboard) tomorrow.:) Will have to get petrol tomorrow too.:o
