  • Struggling a bit today, so just going to potter about. Have logged onto our DMP and the outstanding balance is £26836. It's been reduced by nearly 10k in 2 years so not bad.:)

Still thinking we could tackle the debts with activ capital, asking for original agreements etc.........Its got to be worth a letter!! Just got to get my backside in gear.:o

We've got the 5p, 20p & £2 coin pots well and truly started. Still need to do DMP review and get new spend diary set up for 2014.

OH and kids taking the dog out whilst I chill on the sofa, under a throw as no heating on.:o

  • Just worked it out the figure is slightly more that 10k if you include the car loan that was separate to what we paid on our DMP. £8370approx on DMP and £3100 (figure off the top of my head, could of been more!) on what was outstanding on the car finance.

    Mmm feeling more positive.

  • Oooo a bit of a spend day today.....we'll not by me ;) I've stayed in today as I still feel so rough. OH went on a mission to get a new microwave (old one blew up....well sort of!), also a birthday present, took DS2 with him to spend his Christmas money (wisely of course!). Also asked him to get some veg and bits for New Year's Day dinner as both sets of parents coming. Total spend £93 plus £10 towards DSs purchases.

I never thought I'd say this but I almost can't wait for the kids to go back to school, me and OH back to work and things to get back to 'normal'......now that's a sad thought!:o

I agree completely and I do not have children. The diet has went, the finances, the routine. Paid early, don't know what is coming or going, no lunches or dinners prepared. EVERYTHING!

I need the 2nd of January. I need routine to function well!
  • Hey Alice.
    I totally agree.
meal plan has gone to pot.
Kids are eating far too many sweets

    Dear Alice,

Out of all the diaries I subscribed to last year you're the only one still posting and although I've not commented at all this year I just thought I'd let you know I'm still here, I'm still getting my daily email and I'm still cheering you on.

Keep up the good work - you're doing a marvellous job :T:T:T

    Happy New Year!

It's just madness, I try and keep everything together all year but over a few days it's all gone to pot. Routine is just a few days away Bad Weather.......phew,

Our DS3 was right stroppy tonight, like you say too many sweets, late nights, all out of routine. This time next week they'll be back to school and we'll be back on track.:)

  • Forgot to mention in my earlier post, OH took the kids to McDonald's whilst they were out, over £15  apparently everybody was thirsty!! Not heard that excuse before!!

Takeaways and fast food will certainly not be on the meal plan in January!

  • Have updated spending diary this morning, checked bank account only to find eon have changed the DD payment to £119 per month. Thanks for the notice! The heating will be staying off now away.....unless we have visitors of course.:o

Not sure what the plan is for today, really need to do some housework but still don't feel 100% but can't possibly have another chill out on the sofa day.

DS1 goes off again this weekend via Europe, will need extra petrol money to take him to the airport but we don't have any 'spare' money to give him to take with him......not that he's asked for it but would of liked to give him something.:o

Alice happy new year, take a few minutes to appreciated all you have achieved in 2013 and I hope 2014 gives you the strength to continue conquering those debts.
