Went to Drs today about my hip.Whilst it is getting a little better it's still really bad.I saw a new DR and was surprised at how thorough she was..she took my history and gave me a thorough exam and wants me go for an x ray tomorrow.I have the card here. She's made a note in her diary to check the results when they are back and is then going to refer me orthopaedic management team which covers, walking aids, physio, pain management, podiatry etc so am sure we'll het there eventually.0

Hi Taxi
It's surprising what a fresh pair of dedicated eyes can do.
My brain tumour went undiagnosed by the GP surgery for 3 years despite repeated visits.....they kept blaming the symptoms on "coming off the pill".
I finally saw a female locum who ordered some tests ....and suddenly all hell broke loose. Thankfully the tumour was diagnosed as benign...and too small to warrant surgery . But I still have to live with it, and its effects, every day - which means medication for life that will require adjusting from time to time
I'm now a great believer in going for a second opinion if you haven;t felt comfortable about developing a good relationship with one of your local GP's. I'm registered with one GP...but I always/only see another now because he takes me seriously and we have good discussions about pros and cons of potential ways forwards
I'm really pleased to hear about your last consult Taxi....sounds like you;ve hit on a winner there :T:T

Taxi - great news on getting something done about your hip. You have to keep chipping away at the medical profession sometimes - you can see how people slip through the net when really they are seriously ill.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Lost 3lbs at WWs this week so am pleased with that as I cannot exercise at all as can barely walk still.
DD1 and I went for lunch the other day.We sat outside the bistro in the sunshine for an hour before it became too much and gave us both a headache. It was lovely to spend some time with her and have a good catch up as she has been so busy with work.I haven't even seen her when picking up/dropping off JJ as I pick him up from after school club and DH drops him back at his mums on monday morning.
Nothing much happening here.
MH worker came the other day and she has now put me on telephone appointments. She has also put me forward for some alternative therapy and I received the letter the next day to make an appointment to see them so will phone monday.0
