Had a couple of busy days..
Sunday I took JJ to the play place obviously he had plenty of fun but boy was it noisy.I only managed 2 hours there as it was both uncomfortable and gave me a banging headache so don't think I'll be doing that again in a hurry..lol...had to let DD2 take over after doing his tea whilst I had a nap..so she bathed him and put him to bed.
Yesterday I spent a lovely day with a load of ladies in Birmingham so was up at 6am to get JJ up,gave him his breakfast, gave him his uniform and made his packed lunch then a quick brew with DH and quick shower to get ready (as quick as I can be)....dropped JJ off at his mums and then DH drove me to Preston station so that I could meet two friends for 8.30am.
My friend was driving us to Birmingham in her lovely jag and very comfortable it was too.We then met up with the others at Slug and lettuce, had a walk and a canal trip..it was a day full of fun and laughter and just what I needed.
All these ladies have had breast cancer and we met online and they've all met up every few months over the last couple of years but I've never had chance to as have always been ill.I had met one of them previously at my hospital so yesterday was hard for me to start with as have been avoiding going out/meeting people but we had loads of fun and it did me the world of good.
I even managed to stick to my diet and have points left over even though I had steak, chips and onion rings for lunch and toast and jam in the morning..was exhausted when I got back but happy

  • What a brilliant day that sounds, taxi:j.

I know everyone on here offers you such love and support but unless someone has been through actually experiencing cancer themselves they can't really appreciate all the fear and worry that goes alongside it. The lovely ladies you spent the day with sound just the tonic you need and now you've broken the ice and met them I'm sure you'll be looking forward to the next opportunity to have fun with them. Friendships like that (born out of mutual adversity) last a lifetime. You are blessed indeed to have met each other.

Sounds as if you also had a fun but tiring time with JJ. It must be great to have such lovely, supportive daughters to call on when things get a 'bit much'. I know what you mean about those play places being noisy. You lasted longer than I do....10 minutes gives me a migraine:o

Take care of yourself, rest up so you are ready for the little bundle of energy on Friday.

    Hi Taxi
I've been away so haven't been on here for a couple of weeks. I'm so glad the scan was a good result. Your day out sounds like it was a lot of fun. Don't overdo it with the grandson!
