Fantastic news, taxi:j. Everyone on here who follows your journey will be so proud of you:A. And all credit to the wonderful staff who helped you through it. Here's to the same success in all your future visits/tests/treatments/procedures on your way to being 100% well again:beer:

Sorry haven't been posting for a few days but have read your diary when I was able to catch up.

Had a very mixed week myself. My brother phoned me yesterday to tell me what the follow-up results were from his bladder-cancer removal op at end of December. Great news, it was non-invasive and the surgeon said he had removed ALL of it. He still has to go for another internal exam every 3 months but he is over the moon about the outcome. The surgeon said that judging by the size of the cancer (it was a whopper apparently:eek:) and the biopsies etc. it was probably there inside him growing for about 2 years. There were absolutely no symptoms in that time, the first he knew about it was a bit of blood in his urine towards the end of last year. It makes you wonder doesn't it, all these time-bombs ticking away that we know nothing about?

That was the plus side. The downside is that I have finally admitted defeat in being able to clear my debts myself and have started the procedure with StepChange for setting up a DMP. I feel so down about this, I genuinely thought I might be able to mange by myself but the added interest, late charges, overdue sums etc have pushed the amounts owed up so much that it is impossible. And my debts are huge by the way. I haven't posted a SOA on MSE (too ashamed):o but now I have had to confront it and do a SOA/budget for StepChange I feel there might be a chink of light out there somewhere. I'm not wanting the debts written off (after all, nobody held a gun to my head to rack up these debts in the first place) but just need some respite from the impossible interest and charges. So on one hand I feel so bad about having to admit defeat but on the other I feel a tiny bit less stressed.

Have been totally stressed out by all the phone calls from the credit card companies, sometimes late in the evenings, when the operatives were so pushy about payments etc. I got to the stage where I was afraid to answer the phone but knowing my brother was ill I knew I couldn't ignore it when it rang just in case it was about him. I got great satisfaction this week telling each creditor that I had started work on a DMP with StepChange and they would be in touch very soon. Surprise, surprise, no more phone calls from any of them once I'd told them that,:j

Sorry to hijack and rabbit:o on but I just want to say that if anyone needs any help with consumer credit debts PLEASE contact StepChange. They are a debt charity (used to be called Consumer Credit Counselling Service I think) and are an official organisation not one of those that you have to pay money to work for you. Everyone I spoke to on the phone was brilliant, just reassuring, helpful and so easy to talk to.

Take care of yourself, taxi. Hugs to you and your lovely family.

Oh Taxi, I'm so pleased for you! Thank god you got those members of staff when you really, really needed them. And yes, as Rising says, its not just you, and the nurse herself had experienced it too. Plus good tax news, that sounds lovely!

Carbootcrazy, I didn't know of the name change for the CCCS - I can understand what you're saying about needing that respite, because the charges are making the debt grow and become unsustainable. Good for you, for being proactive.

Taxi, hope you have a good day today too - more snow round you, I think, forecast for later on. I can't tell if its going to get to me or not, I'm on the edges of that low-level warning, but then the pretty patterns they make show it as swamping me. Pah! And I want to go out tonight, but to another town, and if they stop public transport, I'm stuffed! Ah well, it will happen anyway, nothing I can do there. Stay in the warm :)

carboot crazy...great news on your brothers results I'm so pleased for you all.I didn't know CCCS had changed their name either but well done on sorting stuff out.Sometimes situations are impossible no matter how hard we try to pay the debt off especially with the charges etc and stress/worry is no good for anybody x

KC....was reading the local paper earlier and it forecasts snow from lunch time today so will see what happens.
Hope you manage to get to where you want to be tonight safely x

It felt really strange having those staff yesterday as though somebody had sent them and the phrase purple angel kept coming in to my mind...don't know why ...how strange
