I need car hire for 4 adults and a child in August for a fortnight from Alicante.
The best price I can find is a shade under 400 quid with Goldcar however there are lot of negative comments regarding them.
The price appears to include 0 excess although I know I will be stung on the price of a tank of fuel (probably about 30%?)....wondering if anyone knows of a more reputable company around the same price?0 -

Hi
I have read Martins guide to this. Looked at a few websites such as rentalcars.com and auto-europe etc.
We are going to be away for 2 weeks at a town about an hours drive from alicante and will be driving everyday so would imagine we would use up a full tank of fuel.
The price I have seen on autoeurope for fullreturnempty on a ford fiesta is £166.
For a Corsa on fullreturnfull it is £382
My question is, since we will be doing a lot of driving and are likely to use a full tank I am leaning towards getting the Fiesta(fullreturnempty) but if I do this am I going to get ripped off with their charge for a full tank at the airport? As I understand it I pay the £166 and then when I get to the airport pay for a full tank of fuel? A reasonable cost for this would be £70ish pounds -am I going to be paying a lot more than this?
Why is it so much more (more than £200) for a car on fullreturnfull than full return empty?
Thanks for any adviceStarting MB- looking for Raf offers.

Anyone? I just want an idea of how much they would charge me fora full tank of fuel. The guide says £100+.
But say they charge £120 for fuel, hire amount £170 gives £290 total which still substantially less than a full return full car which is going to be about £370. Its just I am concerned that they will charge even sillier amounts such as £200 for a tank of fuel?
Whats the most anyone has been charged?Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.

The best thing about full to full is you pay for the fuel yourself, google maps helps you find a fuel station near to the airport at a reasonable price for the return.
The fiesta at £166 for two weeks seems too cheap to me, read all the small print before booking. Does that include the airport surcharge?
Perhaps use https://www.carrentals.co.uk for a comparison.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0 -
Thanks for the reply.
I've read the product infomation for the fiesta(it was found using auto-europe and its with Goldcar rental) and it doesn't mention anything about any airport surcharge?Starting MB- looking for Raf offers.
