lights don't use much electricity, especially energy savers, and they help to heat the house, so it's not all wasted. Xbox does though

Ooo. Just remembered - I also have a Unify system thing from Scottish Power that measures my usage (like the OWL) and is connected to the internet. It also comes with a seperate plug adapter thingie (very technical...) that not only measures the usage of whatever is connected to it seperately but I can also turn the thing off via the internet/Unify system.

I think I will be plugging that in tomorrow!

lights.xboxes, chargers left on they all use more electricity than if they were switched off when not in use, or left on to fall asleep to and at 3am the other morning I went into sons room to switch off his tele he had left on, his ipod he was charging before he fell asleep....:D

Do you know this may sound really tight but I stopped buying the smelly plug ins, sure they only take up a miniscule of elec but seen as it gone up I stopped and use candles to make the house smell lovely now,I know, I know too tight maybe but every little helps:D;)

if they aren't charging, the cost would be minimal or nothing.

how many units do you use per year

Just switch off lights/sockets whatever at the fuse board, they'll soon get the message and you've only gotta go to one place.
I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.

If what is not charging? You mean the plug ins or the ipods? The mobiles or the xboxes?

I'm sorry to say I haven't got any good ideas for this one.

The only thing that worked for me was moving out and having to pay my own bills! I even said 'I've turned into my Dad!' Going round switching lights off! lol

Sounds like me and my sister.

I do remember we used to leave lights on all the time and my mum would end up telling us off and switching them off herself. I didnt get what she was so irritated about.

Now I am always telling my DH to switch the lights off!
