    Good Morning Tilly

Dinner tomorrow is halloumi and courgette kebabs with tabouleh

I'll set the sat nav and start up the charabanc. What time is dinner and do I have to wear me best frock and pearls? :D
I have to buy mint  Why do I always manage to kill a herb that is supposed to grow like a weed :o

Me too! I blame trying to grow it in pots, I don't think it likes it for more than a season. However, I have had minor success this year, I planted out a YS'd pot of mint from m&$, and thus far it has carried on growing. Some went in the jajig last night :j

I had meant to mention, I perused our mrL's wine section t'other day. I could only find one Portugese wine in stock, a vinho verde for 5.99. Although plan a was scuppered, I'm wanting to try these wines now :D It'll definitely be a future purchase :D Plus I'll keep an eye out for any special offers on the Dao reserva if they have it again. Thanks for making me think about these things - always like to have new things to try in the pipeline :D

  • Morning Greying, I'll buy a pot of mint from L!dl today and see if I have better luck. My mum has it in her garden and it grows beautifully :o

£9.34 ready to claim from TCB. Future fund is ready and waiting :)

The blind is due to arrive today and hopefully Mr T will have a gap between calls to do some DIY :D

Cup of tea in the garden is beckoning.

Morning, as of tomorrow, mortgage will be £7k :T:T

We haven't paid interest for quite a while as we've been fully offset but once our £5k goes in, in July, we're nearly done. Roll on August holiday :T

    Crikey, it's really sinking in.

We bought a mint plant and it looked a bit bedraggled to be honest. I took a cutting and left it in water for about a week and it grew some roots. I have now planted it in another pot. Mr tc put the main sorry looking plant outside and it is now flourishing. As a precautionary measure (as I am not too good with plants), I have taken another cutting and it now has roots so I will be planting that later.
I'm also growing some sage -we bought a packet of sage stems and I put them in water and one has rooted-ifingers crossed I will end up with a nice plant.
I bought some herb seeds only yesterday, lemon balm, parsley, dill, chives...I'm going to be busy. Lol :)

Hope you don't mind me butting in Tilly, but I need to give tattycath a head's up on the lemon balm, it's part of the mint family so same sort of control method's needed, plus it self-seeds very easily, first time I grew it I did''nt know how prolific it was and just under half of my Mum's garden had lemon balm seedling in it, took a year of weeding to get it back in just the herb garden.hth, and ignore the above if you already knew that information.

Thanks for the heads up. I had no idea. :o
I think I'll start with a pot on the windowsill and go from there. My mint is currently in 3 pots.

On the plus side tattycath,if you end up with 3/4 plant's it makes a lovely green lemon tea, just bung a handfull of leaves in a tea pot, boiling water and leave for 5 minutes, if you want it hot or wait for it to go cold and have with ice for an iced tea.
