    Wowzers Tilly £2k that's fabulous!

I find your thread so inspiring, I feel like we are treading water sometimes with such a large amount to pay off. Stories like yours keep me going :) I also read somewhere that when the figure you owe falls under the £100k mark the numbers seem to tumble faster - I sure hope that's true!

Hope the Dr goes well, enjoy your day & your chicken dinner xx:):)

    Morning Tilly,

Glad to read that you are getting better every day and congratulations on being so close to being MF!

I second ATB regarding the fact you have been inspirational to so many of us. Slightly selfish request here, but I for one would love to hear about your adventures after becoming mortgage free, so I really hope you stick around on the forums x

    2k will be magnificent :T:T:T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Thanks for popping in NHS, ATB and Gally. Things are falling into place. I'm just waiting on some decisions re work.

I think having an offset with a big mortgage is a godsend as your money really works hard for you. As high rate tax payers, clearing the mortgage made the most sense. I think once we got past the £100k mark mentally we felt better. Having an endowment pay out was a big help though.

The mortgage will clear when we are in Portugal and I'm buying a special bottle to celebrate.

I'm keeping my diary going but won't write much about our plans until work is sorted.

Chicken roast dinner was delicious - thank you Mr T. I've got chicken stock on the go. Leftover chicken will be used for me and Mr T tomorrow night. Dogs and cats have had leftover bits. The hounds loved their walk and they definitely had flapping ears as they were running everywhere.

    Meal plan
LO chicken, HM chicken stock turned into risotto with last of HG peas
Griddled courgette with HM roast tomato and garlic sauce and spicy cous cous
    HM pizza and salad
Oxtail casserole - yes I know it's summer but the forecast is awful
Lamb steaks cooked in SC with rosemary, garlic and onion, served with broccoli and roastie potatoes

That's it as we may go out for dinner with friends on Friday.

Mr T popped to C@scto and came out only £35 lighter - for anyone who has read my diary regularly, you'll know this is a miracle :rotfl:

DS has downloaded a comedy £5.49, definitely cheaper than three of us going to the cinema.

    Night, Tilly x x

Tilly - I once made homemade stock after a few glasses of fizz .... When I went to sieve it out I forgot to put a pan under the sieve and it all went down the sink :o:o

(I've already started Yuletide meal planning :D)

    2k left is fantastic! :T
a penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. The conditions are always impossible | The only thing you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library
