Hi ladies, didn't mean to mislead - DSs interview is the 8th - fingers crossed. He's just done an application to W@itrose as well.

Nearly time for travel insurance renewal, plus I need to book a hotel for DD for one night. I have enough points on a reward card of mine to do that, so no cash :T

I know I don't need to ask as you are wiser than many of us around here, but do you have anything linked to your current accounts so you don't need to pay extra?

Glad to hear your family are well x

  • Morning AJ, no travel insurance benefits on any accounts we have :(. I do need to get it done this weekend, plus book a hotel for DD.

DD comes home tomorrow, not today as I thought, so Saturday evening will be our celebration dinner. We are going to "have a go" at taking a pic of mum, DD and DS to frame and give to her. Might have to ask Mrs MWC for advice as we are useless at photography.

Mr T was on a roll last night and washed all the cars - cool, clear evening and sounds like he enjoyed it.

Money news - I've read my pension documents and am quite happy. I can take a pension at 55 if I want to, that's more than enough to keep us going. This three year window until retirement for Mr T, is looking good.

He still finds it hard to believe that this is possible :). There has to be some payback for working like nutters for years.

I'D better crack on, physio beckons.

    Best wishes Tilly x x

I have one of those too :D Just been inspired to dig it out. It was taken with the original 'selfie' stick.... errrr, a tripod! :rotfl: Gran is in the centre and we're on the outside (either flank). I can tell that it is either late July or early August due to the height of the sweet peas :D We were all seated, but our chairs faced backwards and we're looking back - gran was facing forward in her chair.

All I would add is... think about background - choose something bland or nice (not too distracting) and take loads and I mean loads of pics. What my (timer) driven shot proves is that people fidget! :rotfl: But if you take loads of pics, you get the one that you WANT, and all the lovely out-takes that actually, are equally as valuable. My print sums up my gran entirely, as she's mid chortle, after saying something waiting for the timer to stop flashing :rotfl: Use the advantage of digital media and really record the event - have fun. Film/processing costs limited my shot to one of us, and a few others of various members of the family.... the good old days of SLR's and film.... :D

    Definitely do it Tilly :D

  • What a day we've had. My mum is 92 and we literally laughed most of the way here. Then laughed over HM Apple and almond cake, then all through dinner. How fab to get to that age and still have your mental faculties.

Pictures will start on Saturday when DD arrives and will finish on Sunday night. I've got all my orders :rotfl:

Greying, thanks for your suggestions. Mr T has read them and is preparing himself. We will be doing girls only, nan and grandchildren, then all.

    Glorious happy day.
