Hello. I have read through this thread over the last couple of weeks, it is epic! I realised whilst I was putting the clothes out to dry (in the rain, my neighbours must think I'm crazy. Tumble driers are for losers (joke!!)) that it was about time I posted.
Well done on your mortgage free journey! It is inspirational. I started with the TillyTidy a few months ago when I saw it on another thread. It has been great to read where that had come from! I hope to start my journey in January when I can start over-paying although the thought of doing so is a bit scary. Not sure why. If we overpaid the the max. of 10% per year we would be done in 10 years instead of 23 and save ~£60,000 in interest (I love the calculator). I would rather an offset but due to recent changes in hubby's job and starting to work for myself in the next couple of months I imagine it will be very difficult to remortgage. Will try though; if you don't ask, you don't get!

Has anyone else noticed a sort of sigh when the advert break comes up during the tennis? A little like when Sherlock's phone's signal for an incoming text was changed. Or is it just my telly?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hi StripeySock, £60k in interest saving is marvellous. How amazing to think you could not only cut off 13 years, but reduce the amount you pay back :T
Congratulations on reading my whole diary - not sure if that should be commiserations
Please drop in whenever you like - don't lurk, much more fun to chat
Have a good weekend.

Morning Apple, I'm looking forward to the tennis today - a combination of tennis and Sherlock - marvellous :j
Washing machine has gone on the blink  Fortunately it's covered and hopefully by Monday lunchtime it will be back in working order. DS is going to suffer as his bedroom has been a complete tip for the last two weeks. Clothes all over the place - thus no washing done. He spent yesterday afternoon and evening sorting, throwing, cleaning and it looks great. Glad he cleaned his shower room and not me. However, he has very few clean clothes :rotfl: Hopefully that's a lesson for him
Sun out but very cold wind - first cup of tea sadly not consumed in the garden.
Physio going well. It's not been the best year so far but I feel physically ok, and mentally back to normal. To be completely ok will take months, so I'm not thinking about that now. My focus after hours of discussion with DD and Mr T is to create an achievable plan to enable Mr T to stop working in three years.
It's good to have my work brain back :T
Eggy bread for breakfast with another cuppa. Then Mr L, S&S, hedge to cut (I'll supervise :rotfl:).

Am glad you are getting good physio - it makes a huge difference long-term.
And great plans ahead, it would seem, to retire Mr T in 3 years... Looking forward to hearing about them, as I reckon he and I are the same age. My dh is 10 years older and was talking the other day about extending the mortgage time-limit. At the mo, it all has to be repaid by the time he hits 65. At the mo, I reckon we can get it done by the end of 2018, 5 years before the limit.
Am trying to 'get him to see reason'!!!!!
especially because by then, we'll have good savings, so no need to borrow... Tis a work in progress... NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Groceries £61 - I'm feeding 5 Monday- Thursday, then 4 for the rest.
Garden is working hard to feed us
We took bedding and towels to laundrette this morning, then sat and had a coffe and small cake in church hall - £2.80 all in :T. Mr T also used the time to have his hair cut and we dropped off a pile of stuff to charity shop. Mr T has gone to fetch DD and all her stuff :T
Dinner this evening will be HM BBQ kebabs with loads of veg, salad and HM flat breads.
DS is revising in his tidy bedroom, hounds are relaxing and cats are fast asleep. I think it's time for a cup of tea.
