Research just beginning Tilly, have compared my main bank with Charles stanley and the rates far higher at my bank. Saving and investing will become second nature to your children which is brilliant.
Am also loving the salad leaves, have so much rocket so picking it regularly. DH even commented yesterday how tasty the rocket was and dd has requested a ham and rocket wrap for lunches. Dd is convinced it tastes better as it hasn't needed to go to a factory. Just shows how these little conversations we have with them really sink in and get their growing minds working.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0 -
Morning CathT, rocket pesto is also good

Great to hear people can taste the difference. Popping out to the garden and picking a few leaves really is a joy. I had a cheese roll the other day, just over 2p bargainous one from Mr M, leaves from the garden and a little cheese - delicious and probably only cost 10p :T
Are you growing radishes? There are some interesting recipes for cooked radishes as well.
Good luck with your ISA. I'm just going to keep reminding the kids what sort of pot they could have in x years. I wish someone had done this for me

As I am counting this as month 1 of our journey, I contacted the dreaded 'Spanish bank' today and our mortgage now stands at £309, 548, so after years of being over the £300k, we are almost within spitting distance of the £200ks! Still huge but an improvement.
Daily interest currently is .........£45 ish PER DAY - how hideous, however, in March FY12 we will be switching and can't wait to see that drop significantly.
Need to get back to work now, so hope you are all having a good day and saving those pennies!

I have cream to use up - potato dauphinois anyone?
A thousand times yes! One of the tastiest, least healthy dishes imaginable if done correctly
I like your son's job hunt, strongly suspect that he will become the next MMM
Congratulations on getting the mortgage under £100k, that's a fantastic achievement. I wonder if this stage of your financial journey is the inverse of all the people on the FI forums who insist that the first £100k is the hardest, and that subsequent £100ks take hardly any time at all?0
