  • Morning, glorious day :j

    Mr T has cut the front hedge again - next job is scarifying (again), then a cup of tea :). He wants to cut the lawns later.

    We are definitely having lunch in the garden and dinner is a cheat, as I've taken pork in gravy out of the freezer.

    No money news - today will be a NSD.

    I'm all for that sort of cheating :)

    I must admit to being perfectly happy that moss is growing in my grass - I mean, you don't need to cut moss, do you?

    Very impressed that you're getting to dine in the garden. I think that we will need a conservatory to repeat this feat as and when we have a garden. Oh well, it helps the plants grow and makes the ducks happy :)

    Hello Tilly. Just been catching up on diaries after a few weeks away from the computer. Blimey! Sounds as though you have been very poorly. I hope you're on the mend now - do take care of yourself.

    Haha - not that surprised by Tilly keeping track - I have a savings goal that finishes on the 20th of December so was vaguely aware :)

    How could you :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    You know me, like to keep us on our toes :rotfl: I'm really looking forward to Christmas :T. As I'm feeling much better I'm starting to think of gift ideas. Plus I'm doing what I did last year and making the stockings lots of fun. As the kids are much older now, their wants and needs are very different.

    Mr T and I sat and talked for two hours about our future last night - people who know me in RL will know Mr T doesn't do this often. Really ironed out the last wrinkles in our plans.

    As Mr T is only 47, his view is retiring at 52 works better. However, he wants us to aim towards 50, in order to give him more choice. Plus during this time we have to obtain relevant permissions in Portugal and either rebuild or renovate. This will require a thorough clear out of stuff we don't love in both countries and earn some money from them when possible.

    Unlikely that we will remain in this house for the next 3-5 years - we had decided to sell this year but have delayed that until we know what is happening with DS. Removal costs, legal fees, stamp duty all add cost and need to be considered in the mix to give us the most bang for our buck, so to speak. This does mean I can fill the freezer up again, rather than just focussing on using up contents.

    I'm speaking to a FA this week, plus letting agencies in the places we are looking to buy in. I know this is not for all and is certainly not an easy option, but due to our previous spendy lifestyle, we are looking for an income for 5-10 years. Thank goodness this won't happen to the young Tilly clan.

    Will post more as things get cracking. Need to run now as I have a friend coming for lunch and not a lot to eat at the moment.

    Best wishes Tilly
