I now feel lazy reading the list of jobs that you have done :D. Hope you get back to your usual self soon Tilly.
  • Morning, your posts have made me laugh :). My mum also used my father's old vests for dusting :rotfl:

Mr Edinburgh, for some reason I can't copy links - look up Marie Kondo on MSE - Japanese lady who is a 'tidy geru'. I'm buying her book for DD to help her start off the right way.

Watty, you have given me an idea to use a towel on the landing banisters on my way downstairs :T

Ahem 47, I'm doing more but Mr T, DD and DS periodically tell me to sit down :)

    Lovely weekend.

DD and I ate outside on Friday evening. Chiminea lit and good music in the background. Saturday saw us walking the hounds, weeding all the raised beds and DD planted up a pot with geraniums. It has a plastic hat to wear until it's warmer. Sunday was front garden time - lawn edged, small bed weeded and roses sprayed. All neat and tidy now. We had lunch outside and although cool, it was a joy to be in the fresh air. Slow cooked pulled chilli brisket (JO) for dinner and it was FAB.

Today we plan to finish some paperwork first thing then take the dogs on a longer walk.

Money matters are ticking along. Another £90 to be OPd tomorrow :)

I hope the weather is treating everyone kindly.

    Best wishes, Tilly x x

  • Morning, £90 OPd, 3p Tilly Tidied to MOS :T

Animal insurance sorted yesterday. No reduction but at least no increase. No difference whether annual or monthly payments - sticking with monthly to leave money offset.

Just two more days and we break through the £100k barrier - I can't articulate how exciting this is. We've had a humongous mortgage for years and since joining :money: we have truly smashed it.

Off to hospital for a check up this morning, then will sort out a few more pieces of paperwork. Loads achieved yesterday and even though we didn't get the predicted weather, it is satisfying to look back and see that the time was well used.

The clothes Mr T has sorted are going to our local homeless team. They are often on the look out for clothes for tall men and we can certainly help with that.

DD comes home this week although she is travelling all over the place for the summer. Looking forward to her tales post travelling - it's being arranged via church and she's looking forward to giving back.

I'd better crack on as I really need a cuppa :)

Definitely - all of you are inspirational :)
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • I'm feeling really embarrassed as we really are just a family muddling through. I don't look on us as inspirational as I struggle with kicking myself for our profligate years :p. However, I guess we have shown what can be done when you knuckle down and get on with it :)

We had a trip to Mr M last night and came away with 10x9p items from the bread section. This included date and walnut loaf, onion bread, bagels, rolls, doughnuts  - excellent haul and bread drawer in freezer is full.

Successful trip to hospital yesterday but interestingly, I've woken up to a huge amount of pain. Not sure what's happened  I think today may be slightly different to the one I had planned. Need to get back in touch with the hospital but as Mr T has gone away for a couple of days, I'll be using a taxi, as I think I'll be back in for a check up.

Dinner last night was oven baked risotto with pulled brisket stuffed peppers - JO pork dish and I substituted beef for pork. Delicious and easy.

Tonight it's pesto spaghetti with HM pesto. DS is making this :T

I bought Mr M sparkling water last night (8 bottles for £2.50) - we are only drinking on a Friday through Sunday now. I'm using ginger skin to make a stock with boiling water and a little stevia. Then having this with sparkling water. Refreshing and as it only uses left overs, it seems free.

I've taken coconut cake out of the freezer for snacks. DS and half terms only mean one thing - empty food cupboards. He is as thin as a rake and 6'2" - he's running every other day, weight training and burning energy. He's making himself a rice dish of some kind for lunches, using chicken or fish, along with a good helping of veg. I always have peppers, courgettes, aubegines etc in and he's working his way through my fridge each day.

Cup of tea in the garden time :)
