  • Morning, unexpected lie in :D

Great night out with chums and I'd forgotten we paid the last time, so we had a free dinner as well :)

It is bitterly cold this morning but folk in Scotland sound like they are going through the mill re the weather. I'm sure I heard the radio forecast mention -15 for tonight

I'd better crack on. Mr T is having coffee and bagels in bed :)

    Best wishes Tilly x x

Just dropping by to say hello and hope everyone's mortgages are going downwards nicely. :hello:

I was helping with some PSHCE financial education at school the other day. Afterwards, the other teachers and I were discussing how even those of us who aren't in the economics department nevertheless know enough about compound interest and payday loans etc to be able to facilitate the kids discussing it. I said "Well, we all earn money and spend money and so we end up knowing about money." One of the other teachers said "Yes, and we all have debt," and I thought "Not all of us, actually - I'm DF and MF, thanks to all those lovely people on MFW, and there are lots of other MF people out there who've graduated from MFW too." :D

It was quite fun doing it. We were given a bit of flexibility about how we delivered the lesson that the helpful economics teacher had prepared for us, so I worked in some of Martin's ideas from his talk to students that's on this site - the stuff about the company's job being to make money and your job being to get the best deal you can, and the mantras when buying stuff, and the good/bad debt discussion. I hope he'd be pleased I've learnt so much off MSE. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
  • Brilliant morning in church. Hounds (and us) have had a long walk, and one of my dogs is sporting his new collar - looks very smart :)

Gritters were out whilst we were walking. In the sun it was glorious, however it's bitter in the shade. Lovely to see the nights drawing out.

Thanks for dropping by Lydia. Lovely that you could help with the financial awareness for the kids.

    Best wishes Tilly x x

Goodness I hope they're not all giving out that message, the classes could have the opposite effect to that intended .

Gally, rest assured, the comment was out of earshot of the children!

Tilly, nice to hear from you too, and glad you had such a nice day with church and dogs. Church was good for me too, this morning, but no dog as yet, although planning to get one this coming summer. :)

  • Morning, another £90 OPd this morning. I'm working on letting income scenarios over the next few evenings. Give me a spreadsheet and I'm a happy woman :)

SC on th beef goulash (SW) on the go and I'm making a small lamb dish overnight.

The sky is a wash of beautiful colours - I am remembering to enjoy the moment.

    Have a good day.
