Sorry to hijack but so many read your thread and I know it was one of your readers that recently sold on an endowment policy but I can't remember the details. We are selling up in uk and moving to our house in cyprus and selling the endowment is part of the plan. Please forgive the intrusion but I do read and have followed all your posts and I have commented on occasion so not too much of a stranger xxx

  • Morning, not posted for a few days as I didn't think I had anything positive to say - however, I've checked back through my diary and I definitely go through periods like this. Fortunately, it's not often.

On the bright side freezer and larder inventory done and I'll menu plan for February today or tomorrow.

    £2.65 claimed from TCB :)

I am starting another wave of decluttering this coming week - I need to keep up with Goldie who is definitely inspiring me, along with Gally, to rid myself of stuff.

The larder and freezer use up is going well though and I won't be batch cooking for us until we have our house plans sorted. We will still continue to use up stocks.

On the house front, within the next couple of months we should have a better idea of DSs plans after GCSEs, and this will enable us to understand suitable locations for moving to. I am looking on RM and Zpl most days to get an idea of what types of property/prices to go for. This ties into the decluttering as I don't want to pay to move stuff we later sell, CS or bin.

I think I feel a bit scared of the future at the moment - particularly as I am starting to research my own business as well. I need to do one thing at a time and slow down.

Apart from that, it's all peace and quiet in the Tilly household.

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • Afternoon, I've just been on the receiving act of a random act of kindness in RL. How lovely to spend an hour with someone willing to share their knowledge and experience to help others.

    Happy days

Thats lovely, Tilly, to have that sort of experience.

There was an article in The Guardian this morning, that said people who've let their houses get very cluttered have the same sort of cortisol in their blood as people with PTSD! I've tried to find the linkie, but I can't, sorry :(

We're definitely on trend with the decluttering :)

As you were one of my inspirations for starting my diary in the first place, I take it as a huge compliment to be inspiring you:)

So far my decluttering has been very much the 'low hanging fruit' (love that saying!). I expect to slow down a bit for a while, as I want to make a start on my wardrobe. I'll have to try on a lot of the stuff and look at it very critically to see if it still fits. There'll be some nice stuff that needs to go, so I'll eBay it. It won't be a quick process, so everyone will be able to catch up:rotfl:

That makes a lot of sense. I definitely feel less stressed when house is tidy and I have decluttered.

  • What a few days I've had. I'm coughing as though I've smoked 60 a day for years and I don't smoke :o

Temperature, aching, and hardly any voice. I slept most of yesterday and with the aid of meds, slept most of the night. Good for the weight loss though, as I've lost my appetite :)

Mr Ts payday and mortgage is down to just under £118k :T

In other news, we are trialling a new breakfast cereal - free breakfasts for DS for a week :)
