Thanks in advance. I think, my problem is one of lack of creativity rather than knowledge of the intricacies of spreadsheets :-(
Here is a simplified version of mine (it has not got all the real costs in for obvious reasons). It mainly deals with bills and savings but you could tweak it to incorporate as much detail as you like.
Basically I put a budget in for each month and then when the actual spend hits my account I correct it if needs be and then highlight the cell in yellow to show the money has been spent/transferred out. My goal is to have under £50 in my "bills" account at the end of the month so I sweep the leftover money into my savings account (which also pays for holdays/christmas etc). My month always starts with my salary going in.
I forecast forwards to the end of next year - reflecting regular monthly payments as well as irrecular ones (phone bill quarterly, insurance annually, water 8 times a year etc).
The real sheet also has my mortgage calculator, ISA valuations and pension accruals but this is what I started with.

Hope it is of some help. TT.1 -

Morning, MIA for a few days. Will take some time to catch up on everyone's diaries this evening.
On the financial front, have made a further OP this week which was rewarding. I will have to check but circa £3k OP so far and the mortgage payment isn't due until end of the month. Makes a refreshing change to see the OM drop.
I do need to find time to sort the freezer and check my menu pan. The kids have had an increased amount of stuff going on and my food plan needs double checking. No monies spent on takeaways, all meals still freshly made and frozen or made on the day.
I am going to look at utility bills over the weekend and check when our tie in finishes. I will have to pop the date on the calendar ready for next year.
Two important jobs to do today are applying for new passports. DD and mine run out this year and we don't want to be caught short. DL also expires this year and I don't want to be caught unawares driving the car!
Weather is certainly turning Springlike and we are all enjoying the dog runs. I am even being persuaded to do a charity run for so thanks MacG for getting me into it
That's it for now, just off for a dog run and then it's back to work, I can't believe it is Wednesday already. No time at all and it will be Friday evening. Mothering Sunday coming up and looking forward to being pampered...... if DH is reading this, I just thought I would do some expectation setting.........

I don't know about you but I think it's been far too long since we had some corporate speak to look down our noses at on here so how about this one, after a hard month of deep diving, snorkelling, four eyes checks and mining the intelligence it's time for an oxygen check. What do you think of that all, does it pass muster :jHiya ATT, I can safely say the last four weeks have been the most hectic I have experienced on my whole career - so I guess that's an indication of where my brain is.......
Now on the business speak, you are really failing if you aren't utilising your Data Warehouse to mine for collateral to assist ongoing profit optimisation......... Shall we talk about protocols now.......
I think this week I needed oxygen let alone oxygen checks...... I still can't get past glide paths and we should make more of an effort to keep each other in the loop on OP progress:rotfl::rotfl:
There will come a day when we can put this all behind us and I can focus in my veg growing and what will you be focussing on? Will you need any control groups to enable the benefits to be analysed:T
Have a fab weekend and glad that your manic month has come to an end.
On the weight loss front it's quite good isn't it? I do think it's all part of the transformation since joining here last November.
I need to learn how to do proper quotes.....
Best wishes Tilly x
Hi Tilly, I've just stopped by for a quick catch-up as I needed ten minutes break from work! Sounds like things are really hectic, I think of you as an energetic and organised person who takes most things in her stride so if you are saying it's hectic then it must be!
Things are hectic with me to and i suspect my job is soon to be in danger but I really won't know anything for a few months yet but still worrying times.
I actually deliberately came on here to share something I heard yesterday from one of our stateside cousins and as they were saying it I actually caught myself thinking, 'must share that on Tiilly's thread''
So... here it is... "it's like drinking from the firehose" translation = it can be overwhelming and you don't know where to start :rotfl:
I hope you've conquered your glide paths are are near to landing the plan and I trust you've managed to monetise the Data Warehouse.
PS, lurrvin the protocols
PPS! I've not forgotten about sharing what's on my spreadsheet, just not had a chance to
Best wishes all
Regards

Hi ATT, thanks for dropping by. Yep things are quite tough and I can normally cope with a significant workload but this is testing my abilities.
I loved the firehouse quote, that describes exactly where I am right now:rotfl:
I am hoping the next few weeks bring a little peace and we can get back to normal.
Sorry to hear about your role but take strength from Froggy. Not even left and a new job to go to - it could be you......
Let's all hope we get a peaceful weekend and have time to relax.

Evening, sadly no passports applied for, so that has to move to Saturday now.
The new role I have taken has been rewarded with a surprising pay rise so that's going into the OP bucket. It's been quite a good day as shop and scan@ have paid out, as well as Toluna, so the Amazon account is looking good. I also managed to sell an expensive item on eBay, which eventually has been paid for and posted (recorded delivery) so good news on that front also.
I am struggling to balance life at the moment which I find frustrating but it will improve no doubt. We can only take things a day at a time and reduce procrastination as that really is a killer.
Hope everyone is enjoying life and taking time to smile along the way - I am not sure whether my smiles are the pre-cursor to hysteria at the moment - only joking.

Lots of us seem a bit stressed at the mo, roll on the Easter hols :TA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hi Tilly, congratulations on the pay rise :j I think you mentioned that you had been aiming for pay rises based on certain milestones, did you manage to achieve what you wanted? I'm interpreting 'suprising pay-rise' to mean more than you expected

att - definitely fire house not fire hose? I could understand a fire hose being overwhelming with the volume of water but not sure why drinking from a house where firefighters are based (or is it a house on fire?) is meant to signify being overwhelmed?Debt at highest: £8k.
