I want to meal plan, am just incapable...

Relieved to hear I am not the only one incapable of meal planning. :o
Glad to see that although you are rebelling on the menu planning (and the world's largest wood pigeons are still here waiting to be baked in a pie) that you are still organising the banking #relieved:D

I am usually really very organised about banking, but ATM I CBA. The prospect of such a massive change so imminently means that all the usual small frugalities don't seem important, but I don't feel I should start sorting everything out for the new reality until the money actually arrives.

I will have to devote a day next week to getting all my bank accounts etc sorted out, opening some new ones, and deciding where to put stuff as I become somebody with savings to build up rather than someone with a mortgage to pay off. Since I teach in an independent school and my kids are at state schools, there will be a magic two weeks when I've broken up and they haven't yet, so I should be able to use a day during that time. :)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

    Two weeks...*dreaming*
  • Morning Lydia, it must be a pretty surreal feeling. Looking forward to seeing how things go once it's cleared :)

  • Morning, sun is shining :)

Mr T comes home this evening and we will take the hounds out for a long walk.

53p Tilly Tidy to MOS. Being able to do something each day to build savings definitely helps my mind.

The stoozing for Mr Ts expenses is working well. His expenses are being paid quickly now and the pot is growing. Mr T has estimated when he will be close to credit limit and will transfer monies to clear the card and start again.

We are £35k away from having a mortgage the same size as when we bought the house we live in now. This will be a big moment - I remember lying awake worrying about how we would manage.

Tennis was a shock yesterday

I definitely need a cup of tea - have a good day.

DD spoke to me tonight - "we need a menu plan - this is too frustrating not knowing what to take out of the freezer ". I laughed so hard :rotfl:

She's asked me to do one before the weekend :). That will be a no - I have no time between now and then, this weekend is rammed, it will have to wait until the next weekend.

Just goes to show how much we all use it, not just me

I'm having 30 mins of peace and quiet. Kids out, Mr T is out and then I've got a work call for an hour.

    Night all,

    Tilly x

Maybe your daughter can do one then? lol

Believe me, I need that time. It's getting easier as they get older, but two kids is hard work with no partner, no ex-partner & no family living locally.

Morning Tilly, and thank you. I'll try to keep you posted when the money arrives etc. :)

Morning, GallyGirl and I may have cornered DD yesterday and she said Yes. Straight away, no thinking about it at all.

So today DD is doing the freezer inventory and menu planning :rotfl:

    Thanks Lindens :T

  • Morning, did anyone see the sunset last night - magnificent.

    93p Tilly Tidied to MOS.

Dinner this evening is fish pie - I'm in the office today so will need to make it when I get in, otherwise DD may be cooking :)

For anyone who listens to The Archers, what on earth is going on

The kids and I will walk the hounds whilst the dinner cooks and DD and I are planning our gym trips.

Have a good day - soon be the weekend :)
