  • Thanks Froggy, so I have 3 sleeps to go and we are with FD - goodness can't wait.:j

Will have to break my no drinking period to celebrate with something lovely. Maybe I could compromise and have a liqueur coffee - that would just nicely on Friday evening.

The last 4 months really have disappeared in a flash and as of Friday, our daily interest will drop to £22.50 - goodness what an improvement from £45 a day:eek:

We intend having a couple of jobs done at home which will use the March OP money, however, really will make life better. Straight after that it will be every penny into the offset and a straight OP as well each month.

Both DH and I feel as though a weight has gone from our shoulders - Friday morning our mortgage will be £299k - now to race through to £199k - I know it's a marathon not a sprint but I can still dream :A

Hope everyones weeks are going well and if you have a spare second on Friday morning, imagine my smile.

By the way, Froggy, good luck for tomorrow

  • Morning GG, from what I have heard the Spanish bank off set and savings/current account seem reasonably well run, however, the main issue I have is their lack of customer service. So whilst you can handle everything on line that sounds fine, when needing to make changes and speak to someone their customer service is inconsistent, product training and follow through quite shambolic.

Enjoy the rates, I think they look pretty good.

Yep, tomorrow morning I wake up to £22.50 daily OP by doing nothing at all - how fab is that :j

I already had an account with A&L, which I hadn't used since it became Santander. I tried logging in to A&L, it diverted me to Santander and there it was, complete with the money I sent over from my Smile account this morning :D

  • Hi Tilly, yay, the week of adios Spanish bank is here :rotfl:

I've just been having a quick catchup but I'm on my phone so will keep it brief and post more at the weekend. I had a great weekend and this week is almost over so I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to my own bed on Friday

I've just finished my room service and plan to be in bed by 8.30!

Ps, I'm pleased to hear you are feeling a lot better now :j

    Regards

I have to agree the Santander service is terrible. I switched away from them about 6 months ago, but I still haven't closed my account with them, in-fact I got a statement today reminding me they still have £8 of my money. I'll be closing it tomorrow, and of course the £8 will go towards the next OP.

  • Hi Tony, thanks for stopping by. It does seem like their mortgage and savings side run quite differently - for me though, I can't wait.

Sadly yet again I have my days wrong, we switch Friday not tomorrow - too much work is addling my brain.

I am so looking forward to our mortgage starting with a 1. Hoping to achieve that during the first quarter of 2013, may slip into second quarter but fingers crossed.
