It doesn't surprise me it's that long. I will have to have both joints in my knees replaced but they won't do it until I am at least 60-65 so that's 20 years of trying to exercise without cartilage. Which is... an effort!

    That long?!

Mrs E has a relative who knows that they will need a replacement join in the future, I get the impression that they thought it would happen in the next couple of years. I think they may need some more research.

With apologies to Tilly for a thread hijack, it's because I'm only 42.
They're putting it off as long as they can.

Hijack away, it's interesting to read about replacement surgery as an uncle of mine is on a waiting list. I need to read your posts more thoroughly though - he's hoping he goes in the next year.

OK, back to money stuff. Mr T has had 3 of 5 expense claims paid and cash moved to offset pot :). Phew :D

HMRC have written to his employer, in time for a change to his tax code before payday - fingers crossed it's sorted. When the rest comes through I'm making an additional capital repayment :money:

Comfort food tonight - tray of roast aubergine, red onions, peppers, potatoes with sausages thrown in as well. Spring cabbage with spices, served with a red wine 'jus' - not sure how to describe the sauce hence jus - it's not a gravy, nor a sauce, just something to make it not dry :) Tilly 'thrown together' recipe rather than from a book.

First walky jog in the bag. DS was a gem and very patient.

Shopping this weekend is going to consist of fruit, milk and fresh veg. Nothing else  Food account down to £3 so will need to sub it and I've decided to use my change pot only. Meaning I can only spend about £12/15 in total :money:

I like these small challenges, probably in the same way Tilly Tidies work, it keeps the focus.

Have a good day and middle of the week already :T

Morning HDK, I think I saw you respond to a question from Mr E saying your weight loss is more a reduction in food, than the amount of exercise. Did doing so much more exercise make you happier with your body and thus want to eat less? I'm off for a gym trial this week and wondering how I'm going to feel. I have free weights, medicine ball, small stepper, trampette, kettle bells, swiss ball at home but my work laptop is more enticing  I thought if I dropped in somewhere on the way home, I could be done before I walk in the door. Once I'm back into the habit I can do it from home potentially - will see how it goes.

I'm off to make a cuppa and de-snail the veggie beds

  • Morning, Mr T came home last night and we had a good catch up sitting in the garden. I've bought some clothes, taken them back, bought more, taken them back and now given up. No more clothes until 1 stone has disappeared.

Massively busy day today - meeting re my future opportunities, hair cut, start of gym trial, plus work. Dinner is not from menu plan. I'm going to make a pasta dish with stuff in the fridge. I have quark to use for the sauce, basil and then I'll turn it into a pasta bake to eat when we all return home.

DS has another exam today and boy will I be glad when they're over. Love him to bits but stress city right now in the Tilly household.

Another YouG survey completed. Given they are only 50 points, with the occasional 75 points available, it's baby steps towards the £50 payout.

Eb@y and I are parting company. The last few items of clothes have been given away and I'm done now. Do remind me of this comment if I decide to step into the ring again.

RM survey stuff is going well. Straightforward once you have a system in place (thanks Mr T) and I'm saving the stamps up for future use. Its also added to my stationery as they are extremely profligate with envelopes, Jiffy bags, labels. L2S vouchers are being saved towards DS's Xmas present. which happens to be only 224 sleeps away :rotfl:

I'm off to make a cuppa then check H@lifax shuffle activities, I can't remember where I am.

Large pile of ironing still not done but will use Saturday morning after my tiny shopping basket of groceries is complete.

Have a good Thursday and roll on Friday - where do the weeks go

    Being cryptic again Tilly? :)

I love how you find the energy to do surveys etc. when they pay so little. That's not intended as a patronising comment (I do them as well when I can be bothered), I'm just surprised that you can be bothered when they pay so little vs. real work!

Morning Mr E, we must be as one with the universe today, as I was sending you a PM and you were posting on my diary :)

Completely understand what you mean about surveys. I can pretty much guarantee I think the same thing every time I do them. I tend to do them with my early morning cuppa or when I'm sitting down in the evening.

Re cryptic, I feel as though I'm on top of a mountain getting ready to jump - just not sure whether I'm liable to jump into glorious warm sea, with blue sky, sun shining or a massive ditch full of mud :rotfl: Will definitely be sharing on my diary once some decisions are made :)

  • Morning, dinner last night was a takeaway  Admittedly from WR, plus I picked up 2 loaves and rolls for £1 and jersey royals (3 bags) for 24p. More fish for freezer 28p - my £3 is doing well

Off to walk the hounds shortly. Out this evening and a fairly expensive night but it's to celebrate a birthday so all good.

    Nearly payday :T
