Morning Radish, it's more than cheeky calling at 2am, I'm sure you had a good discussion with your boss about that

Smog is still here - I thought it seemed clearer early this morning

I thought this was sand from the Sahara? Apart from us all lining up along the coast and blowing at the same time I'm not sure how we could stop it?edinburgher wrote: »Smog is horrible - I remember experiencing it once in London - real Jack the Ripper stuff
There was an interesting chat about it on Newsnight last night with a woman from the WHO and a university professor disagreeing on the steps we needed to take to reduce the likelihood of it happening in future.
Much of it centred around citizens using their influence/votes to affect policy changes to reduce emissions, but this struck me as the lazy answer. No matter how small the impact of one human, surely we have an obligation to limit our personal burden on the shrinking planet? Yes, this could include voting in favour of protections, but surely consuming less is the fastest way to make a difference?
Recycling a can will save enough energy to power my laptop for 5 hours (my use for the rest of the day), but ironically using Google to discover this just emitted enough carbon to be equivalent to boiling a kettle!
This is an area where I feel I could go further. Still feel guilty for learning to drive! :rotfl:
Ps. Maybe MSE should publish their carbon footprint, it must be massive.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I think it's supposed to be the interaction between the sand from the Sahara and our own particulate emissions.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Good morning,
Beautiful day and a few jobs planned, then a long walk.
Off to see friends tonight for dinner.
In terms of spends - £73 on food yesterday but that was stocking up on some offers as well.
Operation fridge jar use up is going well and 3 left the house last week.
Mr T and I are off out for dinner tomorrow night - cheap and cheerful
I'd better run, Mr T is dragging me out to a DIY store
