Weather dreadful here too. It's just been hailing.

I am off sick from work, though, so don't have to go out in it. :)

Hope you're feeling better soon Lydia. :)

Thanks tattycath. ATM I am in the phase of really enjoying not throwing up, and marvelling at how nice it feels! I'm not back to normal yet, but I've started being able to eat a little, so I'm sure I'm on the mend now.

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)
  • Hi Lydia, sounds like a horrible bug  Hope you wake up tomorrow feeling back to normal.

Weather seems to have cleared up enormously now :)

Our weather has cleared up now. We have just had a thunderstorm and hail and stair rods of rain...and the electricity went off...but now it's all fine and the sun is coming out. :D

Evening, early days but I may have been working out some figures. There's an option for an enhanced exit package from work.

We've done some number crunching and in 6 months we could afford for me to stop work :D

OK, nothing's certain, it makes me feel partially sick but it's a distinct possibility. I thought I'd have to do another eighteen months or so but no.

Now do I want to become a SAHM when my kids are leaving home in a couple of years :rotfl: Sounds a good time to me.

No idea where this will end up and I would not take my pension early. It's a final salary plus years of AVCs and I would leave them ticking over - until I understood the art of the possible.

I am so completely shocked and I wonder where this journey will take me next.

By the way, I'm not mad enough to do anything insane. Mr T is new to his job and he needs to settle in and demonstrate his abilities but............ how fab to think its even an option. Even two years ago this wouldn't have been possible.

    Wow Tilly, that's incredible! :T :T :T

No wonder you feel a bit dizzy, what a thrilling turnaround! I'm so happy for you & the Tilly clan :T

And what a great advert for MFWing, the possibilities for the future when you take hold of your finances can be truly staggering! :D I think I now feel just about as excited as you! :D
Tilly - I'm also E and recharge by going out and partying or being around people. Mr F is I and gets his energy from shutting himself in the study away from all my chatter! You can see the difference in us when he gets home from work. He wants to sit quietly with a cup of tea and some quiet time and I want to talk and download my day!

It would be interesting to see how all this affects MS. I spend the fun budget on going out and doing things, Mr F spends it on gadgets and iTunes!
Oops, I'm a bit late to the conversation, but Mr Merle & I are likewise an E (me) and I. The above also rings true for us, especially the spending choices. :rotfl:

Thanks Pearle*Merle, it really was a surprise. If Mr T hadn't been made redundant and been paid off, plus only living on my salary etc, we wouldn't have considered it. However not using the redundancy, or monies from having a lodger, or unemployment etc we have increased our solvency.

    I think I may need a new spreadsheet :D

I have no idea which way it will go but these packages are not likely to remain.

    Lots to think about.

  • Morning, off to walk the hounds and it looks like a reasonable day. There's nothing like an early walk, when its quiet and the dogs can run freely. I can imagine the discussions we will be having :)

Dinner this evening is beef with all the trimmings. I'm doing the James Martin 'wrap in cling (heat resistant) and cook on low' thing - sorry I can't recall the recipe name.

We're taking some time out in a garden centre today. If I wasn't working I'd have so much time for the garden. I could swap garden stuff with MSE chums.

Need to pop to M£S and do a return for Mr T today.

I'm using working social network sites to explore opportunities as well, as the chance to leave with cash and take a new role is also interesting. Although honestly not as interesting as stopping :o

Right, I'd better get to it.

    Best wishes Tilly x
