What a fantastic opportunity Tilly! I gave up full time work over 3 years ago now to become a country wife and I've never looked back. Having worked full time since I was 16 it did feel like I was playing truant for a while and it took me some time to get into a new routine. Our quality of life is so much better now though and I wouldn't go back to my old life.

It's a scary decision but, when I did it, I knew I could change things again if I didn't like it.

Good luck in making the decision.

Morning, my brain is on overload, so it's a good job we went for a long walk, which the hounds loved.

Fortune, I'll PM you as I think it would be good to get some advice :D

PWD, you're getting so close to your end day :T. Will you start a MFW diary? Mum is here at the moment. We are hoping she doesn't go home again as she is really struggling. If I wasn't working that would be a help to her as well but she is still fiercely independent. There was much laughter over dinner as she's now as deaf as a post.

I may just have re-planned the house refurb and I am like this :j:j:j inside.

Will have to rein in my excitement, as we may decide its not the right time and after an email exchange on Friday they may refuse my request. However targets are targets and if all they need are numbers I may well be happy to be one of them.

I'd have time to go back to my coaching and counselling, I have enough contacts to build up a little contracting work if needed, although having done some research last night, I'm not sure I really want to.

Anyway, lots to think about :)

I can tell you all now, Mr T would love to come home and know all the home running stuff is taken care of and he and I could have more time doing our stuff. To have the time to devote to my veggie growing would be great. To be able to get involved with a couple of charities I support would be fab. One would use my coaching skills which would be excellent. I'm already looking at some other stuff with church given what we have learnt over the last six months. (Apologies for all the fab, greats my vocab has disappeared)

    Can you tell I'm excited?

Remind me to calm down when they say no, or if we decide I'm working longer :rotfl:

    Happy days,

    Tilly x

Evening, early days but I may have been working out some figures. There's an option for an enhanced exit package from work.

We've done some number crunching and in 6 months we could afford for me to stop work :D

OK, nothing's certain, it makes me feel partially sick but it's a distinct possibility. I thought I'd have to do another eighteen months or so but no.

Now do I want to become a SAHM when my kids are leaving home in a couple of years :rotfl: Sounds a good time to me.

No idea where this will end up and I would not take my pension early. It's a final salary plus years of AVCs and I would leave them ticking over - until I understood the art of the possible.

I am so completely shocked and I wonder where this journey will take me next.

By the way, I'm not mad enough to do anything insane. Mr T is new to his job and he needs to settle in and demonstrate his abilities but............ how fab to think its even an option. Even two years ago this wouldn't have been possible.

    Tilly x x

Tilly, after such a long time of having to best manage the hand you were dealt I'm just so glad that you finally have a winning hand which brings so many fabulous options! :T
    Enjoy!
PS: No reason why you'd have to be a SAHM (although there's nothing wrong if you do, of course). However, you could start whatever projects you want for yourself and enjoy being free of the shackles of employment as you currently know it! Exciting times!

    :j:j:j Exciting times Tilly :j:j:j

Surely it needs at least one spreadsheet to muse over the possibilities :D
