Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Morning, I should have added to my good news post. This doesn't mean we are MF, the endowments don't pay out for a couple of years, and if I'm not made redundant we have a gap. However, it does mean that we are fairly safe :). More importantly, the renovation saving, still offset, can start.

As I've been feeling so ropey, I've had an opportunity to think. I've decided mini targets is the way to go. I'm currently building our current account buffer; topping up savings pots; kitchen; bathrooms; flooring and underfloor heating; new fire; outside stuff. The latter few are all abroad to get ready for retiring.

Given how much we love working in the kitchen together, we both want a kitchen which works for us, plus once installed underfloor heating is cheap. Still investigating this latter one and could end up changing our minds.

    What a night

We may be missing a few fence panels, fortunately they aren't our side :T.

    Hope everyone is safe.

What a lovely day. Plenty of rest and loads of work completed.

Sitting with a glass of fizz by my side.

:pAssuming you don't mean Alka-Seltzer there Tilly?

When I'm paid next week we will have enough from any redundancy pay, should I be sacrificed to productivity improvements, and endowments to clear the mortgage. :T:T

Tilly, this isn't just fabby news in terms of your whole MFW campaign, it's also a great example of what I meant about your inspirational attitude ~ you've gone straight for digging out the positive there from a situation which could actually be a bit poopy to say the least. Sunshine on a rainy day indeed!

Hope you're Ok and having a restful weekend!

Could never stomach ginger tea myself, but L*dl do a lemon and ginger tea which I have a 1litre flask of every morning! 1 bag for 1 litre of drink, pack from the lesser-luxury L*dl, it's almost as MSE-friendly as drinking water!

  • What a GLORIOUS day. Church was fab; walked to the local library with the hounds and Mr T and DS; Mr T has cleaned the outside windows; I've cleaned inside windows; pigs cheek casserole in the slow cooker ready for dinner; all washing and ironing up to date; DD is away and I've cleaned her room from top to bottom and her en suite. Looks beautiful.

The :) in the sky has been a joy to see. Walking the dogs with the smell of spring in the air, the heat from the :) and blue sky did all of our spirits the world of good.

It is so fantastic to feel like this after over two months of feeling ropey or recovering. I am under instructions from Mr T, not to over do it, but only have to cook potatoes tonight.

Dinner tomorrow is from the freezer, roast turkey, stuffing and gravy. I'm going to dice the turkey and make a suet pastry topping, then serve with greenery of some description.

Tuesday dinner is out of the freezer again, chilli, and I quite fancy jacket potatoes and salad with it for a change.

We have spent more on groceries than intended as Mr W had the large bottles of squash I buy, heavily reduced. Combined with discount, I couldn't walk away. My garage may now be home to 16 bottles :rotfl:

Hope everyone has had a good day.

    Best wishes Tilly x
