I've completed more S&S surveys and another 750 points in the bag.

Toad in the Hole, onion gravy, small amount of mashed potatoes and broccoli for dinner.

Kids are at movies tonight with free tickets. Was supposed to be me and Mr T but this working malarkey is wearing me out. Hopefully normal service will return in a few days.

Operation use 'up bottles/jars in fridge' is going well. Still more to go but shelves definitely have more space.

Used up the last three slices of bacon for a surprise bacon sandwich for Mr T at lunchtime.

I think that's all the news for now.

2.5 weeks until payday. I have a goal (dream, aspiration, aim) to build a float of £1k in our current account then forget its there. Will still offset.

Hi Tilly. I like the sound of this :). Will you use this money just to have it sitting in the current account as a way of offsetting and not touch the money or will you dip into it when the need arises and then top it back up to £1,000?
  • Hello,

Was on my way to switching to fd, they have set everything up and then I tried to launch the online banking. What a palaver. May well not bother now.

Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Hi SD, we want to get to the point where we ignore the £1k buffer, so we don't rely on/use it.

Will see how it goes but hard to achieve on one salary.

I must admit, I should be applauding them as we had a chunk of money removed fraudulently a few months ago, but it is a hassle.

Once you get used to it, it doesn't take long but it does add a step to the process, plus I'm always worrying about losing it :)

  • Morning, I slept like a log last night - probably induced by B@@ts equivalent of N!ght Nurse.

29p TT - this time moved to my £1k savings pot. Once I've saved it up, it will move back to current account.

Tasks for the week - writing them down as I keep forgetting things :rotfl:

Catch up with a couple of MSEers
Complete a document - I'm 90% of the way through but want it completed today and issued
    Ironing
    Empty airing cupboard (again)
Book Dr appointment for early next week
    Buy card for mum
Find and buy a pair of trousers - plus two jumpers suitable for work
    1P surveys

I need to take something out of the freezer for dinner this evening. Shopping this weekend is going to be very sparse. Fresh veg, fruit and milk ONLY.

As my freezer now has more room, I'm planning to cook some pulses and freeze. Cheaper than tins and will also result in space in my cupboards. For the red kidney beans, for half, I'll make a chilli sauce which will give Mr T his equivalent of a tin of chilli red kidney beans. I never understand why he buys them but hopefully we can trial this approach and see how it goes.

I'm also making some biscuit dough up, which I'll roll into sausages and freeze. DS used to do this and it worked well. He's going through a growth spurt again and is eating us out of house and home.

Mr T is going to contact Sk! today to see what else can be done to reduce the cost per month.

I think that's all the things on my mind for now.

I truly long for the day that we are MF :)

Crikey Tilly, can't you slow down for a bit .

BTW, I don't believe that was really Natty :D. Actually, bearing in mind the faffing about she was doing yesterday when she had a deadline it probably was :rotfl:.
