Well done Mrs T...you are doing so well and being so strong for the whole family. I am not surprised that Mr T's mood fluctuates.. I am sure things will pick up soon and as you say you do have a financial cushion.
I was going to say is this an opportunity for him to try a new venture or do a quick training course..perhaps on something unrelated to what he usually does? Would that give him a parallel option that he could do as so he applies for new roles? A friend who got made redundant from a standard office type job recently has done an NLP course and apart from anything else he is relishing the difference from what he used to do and will probably do again. It's like a nice 'add on' iykwim.
I know it will cost but sometimes you have to spend to get an overall benefit?

Hi Brizzle, thanks for your post. Funnily enough I am quietly hoping he does want to retrain, as there's a couple of things he would be really good at but he needs to reach that conclusion himself
One side effect of him not working, is my workaholic tendencies have come back to the fore and that's not so good. A combination of year end, massive changes at work and Mr T cooking and looking after the home, has meant I've fallen into the habit of working flat out, all of the time. That's not good and I recognise after the year end, I must rein it in. When you love what you do and get a real buzz it becomes quite addictive.
Just goes to show how busy I am though, I've just realised I forgot to tell Mr T that I won an award today - we've just got home from a tremendous night out, so I shall share my news in a few minutes. Working for a company the size of ours, to be recognised at the highest level takes some doing, and I feel very proud.
Anyway, after next week I need to get back to early dog walks and swinging a kettle bell :T
Really looking forward to your MF diary starting up

Brizzle, I forgot to let you know about the pea shoots - I have about six so far
. Garlic has already sprouted and the unseasonably warm autumn means we have lettuce in the garden under cloches. I think we will be having a few salads next week.

Good morning, weather forecast is looking dodgy for Sunday and Monday in this area. I've just said to Mr T that we should batten down the hatches and see what else can be out away. I'll put extra pegs around the cloches to keep them in place - hopefully.
I'm making oxtail casserole todayI need to check the receipt as I can't remember the cost - I think it was about £10 something, for 1.6 kg. I had discount off the total though and I haven't taken that into consideration. That will be dinner tomorrow evening and enough for a pie filling as well.
Last night was HM pizza night :T. We used to do this every Friday when the children were smaller. Mr T made the pizza dough and we had a selection of toppings for everyone to make their own.
Very long dog walk on the cards for this morning :T
Menu plan not touched last night - we went shopping with Froggy and Mr T then pizza's when we came home.
Shopping today is in Ald! to use the £5 off £40 voucher. I have a little shopping to do in Wa!trose first, I get a discount, so try to benefit from offers plus discount, with the rest of my shopping done in L!dl or Ald!.
Menu planning needs to be sorted today and we will be working our way through the freezer contents during the next month.
I'm doing BBQ chicken wings and Piri Piri chicken with salad for lunch.
I haven't checked the plan for dinner this evening, so need to get dressed, write a shopping list and get out. Mr T and I are going to have a catch up over a cup of tea this morning. It's been such a busy week, we haven't really had any time - however, it's been a fab week and lovely to catch up with people.
31p TT to MOS.
