I was driving (on a motorway) when it arrived here. At some points there was lots of surface water - quite scary - but no accidents.
Then when I got home I found I had left the velux window in the bathroom wide open, the floor was awash and the place was beginning to smell of soaked bathmat.
Hope Mr Tilly is keeping positive and that a great job will come along soon.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Chicken and onion pie metamorphosed into chicken pasta - thank you Mr T :T
Busy day at work and after being ill recently I am feeling pretty bushed. Will be aiming for a fairly early night.
I feel as though my fight is temporarily on hold as I am definitely unable to make large OPs. We don't however, have to change the standard mortgage payment. I can continue that on my salary, along with the bills etc.
I will need to change my signature to show the mortgage finishing in around 2024, although being practical a) Mr T will definitely land a job in the next year and b) god forbid he didn't get a job, once we have cleared a further £100k we could simply sell up and retire. Clearing that won't be done overnight though, so the frugality will continue.
My mind is whirling this evening and I am unable to switch it off - I am feeling a type of grief/loss for our previous journey, which is frankly ridiculous. However, like the grieving process, I need to come to terms with this in order to move on.
Apologies for waffling on, but I need to let this out so that it doesn't consume me.

Perhaps Tilly, if not too intrusive, it might be a good idea to share on your diary the type of work that Mr T is seeking?
Someone may very well know someone, who knows someone. You have helped, advised and supported a whole host of people out in MSE World and I am more than confident that if someone can help, they will, without hesitation.
Networking can work wonders, and perhaps it's time for one of us to 'pay it forward'.
Same goes for Froggy and Mr Greent

I put my overpayments on hold when DH was made redundant, however the advantage of having an Offset mortgage is that you will still be reducing the amount of interest you are paying based on your earnings and whatever you have in the offset savings accounts.0 -
I think your totally right Tilly, you have to mourn the old plan so that you can move forward with the new, the new maybe a more indirect route but you will get there, but its wise to recognise where you've came from and how well you have done
Stick with it
Ps did you get my text and phone message ?0 -
Hi Tilly.....
I'm going to say the opposite (cos that's that I tend to do) - I wouldn't alter your plan at all and I would keep the signature exactly as it was.... In my mind, making the amends is almost like accepting what has been thrown at you.
Keep with your original plan and stay focused on what needs to be done in order to reach the goals that you are seeking - and, it will happen. I'm a strong believe in positive thinking and I know you are too, so don't let this stand in your way. Mr T will have a fantastic new job sooner than later and you will have the spare Redundancy money to throw at the mortgage - so infact, you will reach your goal even sooner.
I agree with Natty - might be worth sharing some details as to what Mr T does and is looking for, networking can be amazing.....

I am backing Lula all the way with this Tilly.
Your destiny is to pay off the mortgage within your original timescales.
The plan is that Mr T's redundancy payment combined with new salary will put you in a stronger position than ever before. End off.
Now, Lula and myself might one across as a bit daft at times, but secretly we talk a lot of sense :kisses3:

Tilly is a bit shy about Mr T's talents. He's actually in a very specialised field so it's unlikely any of you can help. However, he is one of THESE, don't want to give too much away though.
I'm with the others. Your plans are not changing. End of. We have wine to drink, sunsets to watch and pilgrimages to walk woman :T. Not forgetting the M&S knicker run to Gib :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Would love to be a Fortune Cookie writer. Depending on my mood (aka time of the month) I would have a field day :TFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Crikey you lot have brought a tear to my eye
GG, I'd be laughing if Mr T were one of those :rotfl:
Will think about the comment and post later in the week, you've given me a lot to think about.
El, I've left my phone upstairs as I had a meeting with an IFA tonight, so haven't checked it yet.
I'm drinking an iced coffee and eating a chocolate :T
