Having been away from the forums for a while (been a bit poorly and overwhelmed with RL) I'm another one just catching up. Hope Mr Tilly gets a new job soon - sometimes redundancy can be a blessing in disguise - forcing a change for the long term better where people wouldn't do so otherwise x Mr green is jobless atm - it's not fun if it continues, so hopefully Mr T will get one soon!! xxI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200

Mortgage payment out today and we are only making the standard payment. It will take a long time to clear the mortgage at this rate
Washing is just finishing and I'll peg it out before heading into the office.
Have a good day and fingers crossed for all the job hunters.

Hi Tilly. I've been away over the weekend and just caught up. Sorry to hear of Mr T's redundancy. You were a great support to me when DH was made redundant last October and I hope that Mr T finds something else soon :grouphug:.0

Hi SD, thanks for stopping by - I can safely say I'm extremely grateful to :money: for everything we have learnt. I'm doing my utmost to control the nerves at the moment as Mr T needs me to be consistent and calm, not running round in a flap

Hi Mrs T.. I had wondered if that was the news.. Hmm, never great but have to say, ( and its happened to me), that it can really can be a silver lining. The thought of possibilities really energised me! And to be honest I have never been happier in many ways than in the job I have now.
Thank god you have a frugal life and you can always take in more lodgers! Best of luck with the gardening honey and we are all here to support you.

Best wishes Tilly x
I definitely flapped! It's only natural, but I just had to calm myself down as I needed to not put too much pressure on DH (easier said than done!). I did get frustrated at times as I was helping DH write job applications most nights and it became time-consuming as well as working and running the home etc, but he needed my support and it was worth it as DH now has a better job.
The best thing about joining this forum (apart from all the support) is that it has taught me the importance of having an Emergency Fund and that I can be frugal/reduce spending without having to compromise on the fun things we can do as a family.

Morning,
43p TT OP this morning
All the financials completed last night
Last night we had chicken tagine and cous cous for dinner - I've changed the way I do cous cous and use a little olive oil, various spices and cold water - I think it has a better texture than using hot water.
Tonight it's chicken and onion pie - thank you Mr T
I'm at a lovely point where all the jobs are complete and I'm going to relax in the evenings after walking the hounds.
The veg garden is looking a little wild at the moment as so much is growing - we will need to have a good tidy up and will do some more planting when we return from hols.
That's all for now
