This diary may end up as the most non MF diary on the forum - do make allowances whilst it turns into a meal planning, clean thread ;)

No way, Natty is on pole position for that one, so you might have to contend with silver

    Good morning

No pennies anywhere to TT

The 'empty the freezer' project is going well - I'm going to give it a sort out tonight and double check the menu plan for the next week and a bit. Mr T has asked for chilli this evening, I use a SW recipe and it's mmmmmmmmm. I had thought I was fairly good about shopping but it goes to show that we can probably all do better in terms of cutting the grocery bill. I now have a door shelf in the fridge with space :rotfl:

I realised this morning, when I woke up, that Monday would have been my major OP (I do them in three ways - TTs, 1 large OP, plus anything else I squirrel away). That explains why I've felt so strange this week. However, we will get back on track, of that I have no doubt, I'd just rather it was today, not in a year's time :o

Have a good day - it's fairly cloudy and cool at the moment - I hope it warms up I have a little washing to do.

    Best wishes

    Tilly x

Hi Tilly. You've shamed me into sorting my freezers out. :o
We have loads of food, it's just chaotically packed in the freezers. If I organise it properly I will know exactly what we've got so I don't re-buy stuff we don't need. :)

  • Good morning, no pennies anywhere to TT:o. This fiscal fast is excellent on the one hand but does mean no spare pennies ;)

I'm emptying the piggies tonight and will OP whatever I find over the next few days :)

    Jobs:

Return mag to library (Natty, our library doesn't offer free downloads but they are happy to accept it as a suggestion for the future)

Clean garage fridge - find a way of stopping the door from closing (will leave that with Mr T :))

Walk the hounds and go volunteering for a couple of hours

Have a good day, Tilly x

  • Hi Tatty, now I'm feeling spreadsheet excitement :T. Two freezers and loads of stuff to sort out - I'd be in my element. May have to offer to come up and do it with you :j

I would definitely empty them both, sort the contents into some logical order (this is different for us all it I have a fish drawer, bread drawer, milk/butter/cheese drawer etc), add the contents to a spreadsheet and get menu planning. You truly will save a fortune and turn your stock over.

I think I've posted before somewhere that we all tend to forget what we have lurking and basically we have a freezer full of money.

    Good luck, Tilly x x x

  • Morning Tilly

You've inspired me to do do a freezer inventory tonight :D

I was quite good earlier in the year with using up freezer contents but I filled it up with meat a couple of months ago and haven't been near it since :o

Funnily enough I've just put all my freezer contents onto spreadsheets! I've got 3: a small chest; a small upright - both of which are outside in a cupboard; and a fridge/freezer.

I've done a menu plan up until 25th August, when DH gets paid again, and only really need fresh stuff & lollies (must haves this time of year, LOL!).

Should be much easier to find stuff now I know which freezer it's in!

I don't have a freezer full of money :(. Mine is full of peas, some black pudding and mini green chillies that escaped from their little pot .

I think you'll find the freezer is the new 'back of the sofa' :rotfl:

Oh well have assigned DD1 to make a beetroot cake tomorrow and we have officially decided we are taking the freezer and larder contents on holiday with us..so no grocery spends apart from maybe fruit when we are away!!:T

Do you have a BM? I expect you do but they are dead useful...maybe Mr T could become your expert baker

  • Hi Brizzle, I eb@yed the bread maker as I've got Mr T :T. He's a pretty good bread maker, in fact he's not bad in the kitchen full stop - perhaps I can rent him out?
