  • It's pouring with rain now. Mr T is working from home and has just told me the summer is over

It had crossed my mind to peg the washing out but relieved I didn't.

    It's May, not November :o

I am definitely feeling childlike, irritated and grumpy with no real reason :(

I may in fact, go and bake a cake - that would cheer me up I think and I can use some bargainous cream to fill it with :T

I have a Jane Asher packet mix in the cupboard from AF that I am tempted to make. I never normally buy mixes but it was very cheap and I thought DP and the girls could make it one day when he was on childcare duty.

We have really bare cupboards though and no SR flour left so can't make the real thing. I used plain flour and raising agents to make scones yesterday and they had a really funny taste so I ended up binning them. I don't seem to be able to bake successfully with plain flour.

I am terrible for baking because I end up pigging out big style:o

    Morning guys and gals,

As Tilly mentioned it is May (belated start of spring/summer), so hopefully the sun will be out in full swing soon. So perk up everybody.
That's right. I made sure I bought meats that were on offers, 2 for £7, 3 for £10 etc. I also did the same on some veg. This meant for some meats I was paying £2.50 after all the discounts. I've never known a supermarket close and move before, so can't imagine getting bargains like these again

In reply to Ed's query, at Tesc0 stores if you buy meats/vegs which have two discount rates (for e.g. 2 for £7 and 3 for £10), the discount applies even on reduced-priced items. So added saving there. Same applies to BOGOF too. HTH.

I was never sure what happened in those circumstances! Thank you for that. Does it apply in most of the other stores do you know?

  • Hi, I have had a problem with T£sco before, with their 3410, for example, not being honoured, particularly in th small express shops. Sainsbobs and W@itrose seem more consistent but that's just my experience.

    Best wishes Tilly x

You are welcome! Please not that this discount works only with items with 2 sets of progressive discounts marked in the red sticker/SEL. It will not work if items are labelled 2 for £7 alone.

At Sainsbobs, BOGOF works but not other discounts. At Waitflower, most discounts usually work on reduced priced items. For e.g, if clementines are advertised with 25% discount , the reduced-priced clementines will also have the same discount applied to them. So very often you get paid to take away ultra-low priced items. HTH.

Now off to grade some more assignments

Morning El, still debating but Thailand, Malaysia are top of the lists at the moment. Plus Singapore.

We are spending time this weekend on further planning.

I checked out the recipe last night and that sounds delicious. There's a couple of things I don't have, but will be either substituting or buying the ingredients. DS will love them.

    Tilly x x

We went to Singapore and Thailand for our honeymoon and loved it. We are planning a trip to Asia for summer next year too, definitely Singapore again, I would like to go to Kuala Lumpur and then somewhere beachy in Malaysia or Thailand. Will you be booking yourself or going through a travel agents? Flights through the travel agents go on sale 11 months before

Kettle is on again, that's my third cuppa this morning, what is this doing to my tea supply
Well I only used one teabag between us all :D

I can give free advice about SIN :D But then you have already been there. Why not try Kota Kinabalu - tropical jungle and beaches, you can go snorkelling or diving, fascinating marine park.
