Tilly, want to hold online baking lessons? - I can be your first studentHere is my poor attempt at Madeira cake yesterday - half of which has already disappeared though.
Have a relaxing Sunday today and another sunny BH tomorrow
Morning US, I think the fact that half of your cake was eaten so quickly proves it was delicious.
Main bit of cake advice - always make sure sugar and fat (butter, margarine etc) are really well creamed together. The smoother and lighter the better the cake. DD does a couple of all in one recipes and that disproves my theory though :rotfl:
Good luck with your cake making, PM me if you need a hand

Hope your baking went well. The carrot and apricot cake sounds gorgeous, will be interesting to hear how that turns out when you are it. I haven't heard of that combination before.

Morning, what a fantastic weekend.
We have so many veg planted now, I feel like we are catching up. I've got large plastic cloches at the ready for any cold snap which returns.
Loads of walking, socialising, gardening, baking over the weekend
Minimal grocery spends
98p TT OP
Financials up to date
I have to finish the ironing tonight, walk the dogs and then put my feet up.
Have a fab day

All this talk of cakes is making me hungry! I love baking but sadly love eating too. If I bake it I end up eating way too much- no self control!

Sounds like you had a textbook weekend Tilly.
I got loads of washing done yesterday and dried on the line. I love that, especially bedding. Nothing better than freshly laundered, line dried sheets to slip into at night when you're too tired to think straight.
