    Well done with your TT OPs and PC earnings.

    Tilly, want to hold online baking lessons? - I can be your first student :D Here is my poor attempt at Madeira cake yesterday - half of which has already disappeared though. :) Have a relaxing Sunday today and another sunny BH tomorrow :)

    Morning US, I think the fact that half of your cake was eaten so quickly proves it was delicious.

    Main bit of cake advice - always make sure sugar and fat (butter, margarine etc) are really well creamed together. The smoother and lighter the better the cake. DD does a couple of all in one recipes and that disproves my theory though :rotfl:

    You can't beat a HM cake, cup of tea and sunshine in the garden.

  • Hungry now, actually i've got low cal bakery stuff to try and make, have that Flora cusine in the fridge looking at me, so might have a go today. One child is home as school is taking the bank holiday.
    Was going to try scones and a carrot & apricot cake with it and see how they turn out.

    Hope your baking went well :). The carrot and apricot cake sounds gorgeous, will be interesting to hear how that turns out when you are it. I haven't heard of that combination before.

  • Morning, what a fantastic weekend.

    We have so many veg planted now, I feel like we are catching up. I've got large plastic cloches at the ready for any cold snap which returns.

    Loads of walking, socialising, gardening, baking over the weekend :)

    Minimal grocery spends :)

    I have to finish the ironing tonight, walk the dogs and then put my feet up.

    All this talk of cakes is making me hungry! I love baking but sadly love eating too. If I bake it I end up eating way too much- no self control!

    I am terrible for making a batch of scones and munching my way through them with a coffee during nap time!

    I got loads of washing done yesterday and dried on the line. I love that, especially bedding. Nothing better than freshly laundered, line dried sheets to slip into at night when you're too tired to think straight.
