Thanks Tilly
Never even entered my head about protecting your identity Doh
I'll suggest it to BF at the weekend, but looking at some websites, most in our local area want volunteers in the weekMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Hi Radish, our local council has a good volunteering section on their website - might be worth checking whether yours does the same? Apologies if you have already tried that approach.....
Good luck though - it's a good thing to do and I know we all get a lot out of it, as well as giving something back.
Best wishes Tilly2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Hi Tilly,
You claim the voucher from TCB, it then just sits there as an electronic code. It can't get used by amazon until you log into amazon and apply the code to your account.
My "voucher using" posts were partly about saying, rather than having vouchers sitting around, and spending my money I should do stuff like apply the voucher to amazon asap, so that whatever I buy from there comes off vouchers first and gives me more money in the bank. If you don't do extra shopping for carp on the "oh well, it is free" mentality, then this gives you more money in the bank earning interest for longer.
Hope this makes sense
BTW I agree on keeping identity private - I never put my real name on here (sorry, I'm really not called Katsu) as I feel I can have a better anonymous internet life.

Thanks Katsu, I am now up to speed on TCB ad vouchers are now sitting in amazon account ready and waiting.
It is blowing a gale here today - hoping my fence panels are still up:mad:

Evening, so where am I with my planning......
I have been accepted by Shop/Sc@n so hopefully can tuck a few pennies away over the coming year from them.
I have seen so many people contacting Sky (may need some French charm offensive FroggyG), so I am asking DH to call them tomorrow. We are both working from home so fingers crossed he has time. No idea why I think he may achieve more than me but I will let you know how it goes.
We have taken on voluntary roles for a dog rehoming centre, so will be doing pre home checks. This is a totally different avenue of volunteering but we both think it is a worthwhile cause and so many dogs are now being out up for rehoming, as their owners can't afford to keep them. So sad.
Am uploading this and then adding as I have lost two attempts so far.2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

All spends under control this week and am paid in a couple of weeks, at which point I will do a shuffle and should be able to put another OP for January aside. Roll on March and the FD offset.:j
We are still on track to fill FY12/13 cash ISAs by April but I would really like to bring our MF date forward by a further few months if possible. I think 4-8-16 has a good ring to it but no idea whether it is feasible right now. However, always one for a challenge, I am having a go. Nothing ventured nothing gained as the saying goes. If we can clear £300k of mortgage by then we deserve a medal.
As I planned all the menus for the next few weeks a while ago, I have limited shopping to do this coming weekend so will be shifting my housekeeping budget to the OP pot.
For our DSs birthday this year, we are going to buy him one gift, and only a couple of small bits. The biggie will be around £70 but in previous years we have spent much more and truly, it was money wasted. Still debating about DD as she is quite difficult to buy for really. Thinking cap required as she will be sweet sixteen.
I thinks that's all on my mind for now - keeping a diary certainly stops me lying awake thinking about stuff. I note it down here and then can switch my brain off for the night.

I am going to do a bit of rejigging my schedule to make sure I can do it in the evening. Thanks for the advice and I will keep you posted on progress. Best wishes Tilly x
So..have you tried Shred yet?! Well done on the run/walk, you will get better at that in no time. Keep goingTilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »If we can clear £300k of mortgage by then we deserve a medal.
You most certainly do! :T

That's good. Even when I write things down on here, I'm still lying awake at night. Sleep well.1 -
Hi MacGirl, actually been very focussed and have done the walky/joggy thing every day. That won't last but whilst enthusiasm is high I thought it would help imbed some routine. Shred it is on the list for tomorrow night, fell off tonight's list due to a blinking presentation for tomorrow, it was either build it tonight or get up extra early tomorrow.....
What I wonder is when the mortgage is cleared, would I still have my drive to work? I have worked all my adult life, with limited maternity leave and I quite fancy having time to just 'be'. My DH says by that time the kids will, almost, both be in Uni, you keep working and let's get some savings sorted out. I wonder does it ever end?

That's great! I went back to my running club on tuesday and despite the wind and rain, I really enjoyed it. It cleared away the Christmas cobwebs.
I heard something the other day that rather than think "I'm too busy/stressed to work out today" (I do this all the time), you should think "I'm going to be so busy/stressed today that I HAVE to work out to stay sane" Certainly made me think differently (she says lying in bed after eating chocolate - white and dark)
As for never-ending, no I don't think it is. DH and I have had issues with our rental property this week and are wondering whether it's worth it. Time will tell.
At least life is never boring! Good night x1
