I have just finished making 2kg of lemon curd :T the kitchen smells gorgeous but my upper arms haven definitely had a workout....
I laughed at your mngt speak comment, working for a US company, there are times when I can't even think in normal speak, which is why I write this diary quite simplistically. Definitely does my head good.
Off now to track down kids for cinema - definitely looking forward to another Sherlock fix this afternoon.
Enjoy your sorting with your Mom. Sounds a little like mine and certainly the bigger the house, the more places to put stuff. Mom has things in cupboards, wardrobes, chests of drawers, everywhere, yet the surfaces look empty and neat. Then you pull open the drawer under the bed and :eek::eek:
Off now so enjoy your day. Tilly x
Well done on curd induced work out! I enjoy cooking and think I'm quite good at it but I don't get much opportuntity
Yip, your mother sounds just like mine, beautiful house, pristine and tidy but boy are the amounts of cupboards and stuff scarey!
Enjoy the flix
PS, re American speak, O!M! Flipping! G! I've done some work in North America itself and some of the words, strangled sentences not to mention the downright made up words they used made my head hurt and my eyes water!MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

Hiya ATT, OMG said in a trans-Atlantic drawl. I was laughing on Friday when reading a slide deck received from the US, it contained words which are definitely not in the English dictionary and never should be. I have to say that on occasion, I find myself listening in to calls, and wonder in fact what they are talking about! I'm certainly no dummy but honestly i wonder what is going on. I do think that people hide behind making things appear overly complicated - whereas I like things simple, uncomplicated and thus less effort.
Sorry, I got on my soap box a bit, but I think you will understand.
Lemon curd is FAB and is never the same when bought in a shop. I now have a few jars tucked in the fridge for the next 2-3 weeks, so will be making delightful things over the weekends. As we have friends for dinner shortly I can see it will be a lemon curd pavlova with a raspberry coulis (frozen home grown raspberries) ooommmmm.
I am sure I have seen a Groupon offer for a photobook and we are putting the pics together for 2011 to make up a year book. I will check that later on.
DH is just finishing a chicken and ham pie so I am off for a quick V&T before being waited upon. Lovely.

In order to make themselves appear more intelligent - this is one of my pet hates too!Tilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »I am sure I have seen a Groupon offer for a photobook and we are putting the pics together for 2011 to make up a year book. I will check that later on.
Thanks for that tip, I'm doing one for DH's birthday next week, so will check it out.
Dinner sounds yum - enjoy! (pretend that's a VAT)

I'd echo ATT's feedback on Groupon and the like. So long as you do your research, read the small print and use some common sense then you should be fine.
KGB deals is another one I like and use often. Have also used LivingSocial, although their offers aren't as good as groupon/kgbknow thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...1 -
I unsubscribed from Groupon because everytime I saw a good deal, it was exactly the same as the deal already had :ie 60% off at Gap - they'd already sent me the VIP thingy. Perhaps I need to look at it again, thanks PD0

Morning PD, thanks for the advice on KGB. I hadn't heard of that one before. Sadly it doesn't cover where we live, but, we are taking the kids to London a couple of times in January and early February so can grab some meal deals. The meal deals seemed better value at first glance than Groupon -I will check this out further.
Thanks for the heads up.

I hear you Tilly, I hear you, no doubt the deck was impactful thoughTilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »Lemon curd is FAB and is never the same when bought in a shop. My grandmother was an amazing cook of all things but she did fab jams, curd, chutneys etc and I really regret that she died before I could learn how to do it from her, I used to love watching her drain stuff through the muslin (sp?) when I was a little girlTilly_MFW_in_6_YRS wrote: »I am sure I have seen a Groupon offer for a photobook and we are putting the pics together for 2011 to make up a year book. By co-incidence that is exactly what I'm looking for at the minute as I want to put together a book of baby photos for my mother as we have a new baby in the family and she is complaining she hasn't got any yet to show others and brag about lol. There have been two on Groupon lately but I saw the first one too late and second wasn't what I was looking for as it was strictly to do with photos uploaded to Facebook (yak to FB!)pavlovs_dog wrote: »I'd echo ATT's feedback on Groupon and the like. Hi PD, completely agree re Living Social, they send me loads of stuff for many cities that are not mine and even other countries. I've only used them once and even the booking process was a pain!MFW Start Date 1.4.08. Updated 23.1.18. MFW date 1.8.18

Morning ATT, hope you found the PhotoBook - it seemed like a good deal to me, but it only came with a soft cover. As this is my first one, then that was fine as its a test really, to see how it works out.
Hope your plans go well for the week and good luck with your simultaneous con calls and I hope all decks you review are on the right glide path, full of stellar suggestions and that you can close loops with the best of them :j. Drive me mad but pays the mortgage

Good morning, no chocolate and alcohol failed slightly, as I had a vodka and lemon concoction which DH made for me. However, that was a real treat so I am not beating myself up.
I have exercised well over the weekend and it is early days, but I am beginning to enjoy it.
Lodger payment is in, so that has been moved to the OP account. DH is going to take the discount with Sky but not move from BT. He wants the Infinity package when (at this rate if) it arrives.
Good luck to all this week with all MF plans.

One last thought, when we switch the mortgage in early March, our daily interest drops to £20 ish a day - makes me feel ill thinking how much money has been given to the Spanish bank, however, only 2 more mortgage payments with them and then we move :j
It has been a delight to read so many diaries over the last few days, and some young guys pushing to be MF. I wish I had had their insight and financial savvy at that age. I still have close on 20 years to be working, although once the mortgage has gone, that will mean I can work because I enjoy it, and it's fun, rather than I have no choice.
I am still mulling over the 4/8/16 MF date as that would add some extra pressure which may be useful. Undecided on this at the moment. If we achieved that, we would be in a position to consider other options. However, right now, I am thinking of a cuppa, turning my work lap top and getting focussed for the day.
