Hope that you are all Ok Tilly. Being a MFW definitely gives you something to focus on.
I don't post on your thread a lot but do my best to keep up :rotfl:.
When you overpay, are your payments made directly to your mortgage or do you put them in your 'offset' pot? It seems that your Offset mortgage gives a clearer indication of when you will be MF than mine. Unfortunately my Offset statements with Natwest only include my regular monthly set overpayment in the Calculations of when I'll be MF, rather than all the overpayments I make regularly. So I need to rely on my own spreadsheet to work out my target.1 -

The cost of basic stuff seems to be going up and up, thus I am musing about options.
I haven't bought full price toilet rolls, washing / cleaning detergents etc for nearly 5 years.
Buy a load at 50% and it lasts us until similar offers come round again. A section of garage is allocated for storage of theses items. Just bought some Ariel Excel gel (half price). Savings get converted to OPs.1 -

I know this is a glaringly obvious MOP strategy to most you you out there, however for some reason (until now), I have never even thought about doing this....despite that I will have read on tons of diaries:o:o:o
My oath;
From tomorrow (I do my grocer shopping on Monday), any half-price or BOGOF item - that I regularly buy) will be bulk bought and stored in the utility room, and most importantly I will MOP the saving.
Next I'll be extreme couponing.....February13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)
MND - Let's go for 2020 'cos it's got a nice ring to it:D

https://www.mysupermarket.co.uk is great for this - look on the Offers with the £ sign, then click on Savvy Buys - it shows offers that are 40% lower rather than 2 for £2 when they were £1 each anyway the week before .
I have opened my last box of dishwasher tablets from my Easter 11 Double The Difference stash. Will be buying a bucket of them off ebay, need to speak to Mr GG and see if he fancies a trip oop North to see our friends between Xmas/New Year - we are due a visit - and the seller does collection, only 3 miles from our friends
. Will take orders Tilly

Apologies for not posting for a while here. I had a slight disaster on Monday evening when my hot water tank burst/exploded. Everywhere flooded but I chucked every towel I could find on the floor and mopped really quickly and only ended up with 2 casualties. I have vinyl floors because of the cats and that really helped. However vast amounts of money spent on heating to wash towels and crank up the heating to dry stuff off. Still it was clean water and not muddy dirty stuff as so many people have suffered in flood ridden Britain.
Glad to see you are keeping up the momentum Tilly and put my name down for the Cyber Party I need a laugh and some imbibing!!!!Flowers are sunshine for the soul1 -
Poppy, what a clear up job you must have had. Glad to hear the damage was limited.
GG, will be taking you up on the dishwasher tabs. I'm also looking at approved f@@ds at he moment to do a bulk stock up.
I am taking a tip from others who put annual budgets for cleaning stuff in place. I have a lot of storage space in the garage so there's no excuse, when I see a good offer, I'll be bulk buying
I've had a very restful day and ready for a new week ahead.
Roll on Friday and GGs party. I'll bring the sausage rolls, well it is nearly Xmas :xmastree:

Hi there
Just quickly adding in that we always buy at least 6 months loo rolls, foil, greaseproof paper and kitchen paper in a go (via free home delivery) and then store in the loft.. I largely do it cos I hate running out but it makes MS sense too.
Have started scraping across the few pounds and pennies too..following your method Mrs T...it's quite a satisfying thing to do and I love PADing anyway so it's a similar thing to do.
Have a good eve
