Morning, off for a long dog walk as soon I've drunk my tea
My diary is turning into the booze thread, so I'd better warn everyone that come 2nd January, I will be giving up until Easter. I did this at the beginning of 2012 and felt much better for it
I have £40 in my purse which I want to last until next Friday. Trip to L!dl this morning, I do have quite a lot to buy so will need to take a list and not get carried away.
Mortgage payment end of next week and that will take us to about £238k - the closer we get to £200k the more enthused I become. I do spend money as you will know from my diary, but I question even more now. I spoke to a friend yesterday who complained about not having enough money. They eat out 2 or 3 times a week, have a takeaway at least once and throw food away as well  I find extremely hard to keep quiet but I know she doesn't agree with how we live our lives now. However I can only work with Mr T to fix our lives. I just have to remind myself to keep my mouth shut
Have a great Saturday, Tilly2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

Don't worry - Easter is in March this year.

 Glenmorangie or any of the unpronouncable Islay malts for me, obviously not this early:beer:
Tilly i have both mfw and couldn't care lesses at my office. It is fun watching the frugal ones take in their food for the day and wince every time there is a collection for a maternity leave etc (me included:D) and the couldn't care lesses who spend a fiver just for their coffee and pastry first thing.
I struggle to keep my own counsel too:(! But it's even the conversations about make-up and nail varnish, these people are not well paid and yet they spend money on (what i'd consider) junk. Mind you i have my lethal chocolate habit, so am far from perfect:A!!Weight: need to lose 71lbs - lost to date 0lbs

Hope everyones head is okay this morning!
Tilly cant believe you are approaching the 200K mark (well thatll be the next big milestone!) I agree some peoples attitude to money is very different - its so easy to fritter it away though. I had £50 in my purse this week and it has all been spent on bits and pieces (some food, sandwich out and chips one night ) , nothing to show for it really but shows how easy it is to do (it was "bonus" money so felt justified in spending on things I might not usually!)
Considering we used to do this all the time without batting an eyelid Im telling myself its an improvement - though cant remember what i spent the last tenner on so who knows!
In bonus news I just checked my reciept and remembered I had bought yummy croissants for breakfast today (already forgotten) so off to enjoy one right now! :rotfl:
have a lovely weekend x1 -
Morning
I also find it difficult to keep quiet with some of the people at work when they complain they have no money (particularly in last week or so before payday) - they are the same ones who purchase breakfast on the way to work, buy lunch as well, have several takeaways a week and have top of the range tech gadgets as well. But they cant understand how they spend their money?!
I'm glad for this site as it's nice to talk to like minded people (all my friends think I'm nuts for wanting to be careful with my cash)
Have a good dayBW

I am just grateful that I didn't read the drink posts whilst in the midst of my hangover;)
Tilly, in no time at all you will have the freedom to do whatever the hell you want to with your money, whilst secretly feeling very smug in the company of friends (not colleagues as you will have taken early retirement:D), who have not been financially astute.
Also, you will be able to do the following laugh;
