I actually still have some clothes from when my daughter was born and she's 16 now :o. Classical cut and lovely fabric so makes sense as they don't date, like MoneyCurious I just jazz up with scarves, jewellery etc.

As a child I used to think my mum was weird keeping all her old clothes but I have got to the age where things I was wearing 20 years ago are now back in fashion and I completely get why she was doing it. Shame I am not the same size I was 20 years ago!
I actually like shopping cheap - often i will wear a "supermarket dress" and jazz it up with heels and people always comment on how nice it looks - plus you can guarentee that no one else will have it on!!!
I do like to push the boat out with jeans though as i am a funny shape, long legs, small waist and child bearing hips!!!

Cheap shopping can be as good as expensive shopping - but knowing me id trash the dearer one first!!

I used to love shopping cheap because no one shopped in the same shops but now all my friends shop there too so I would be in the same stuff as them. Problem now is I am a different size from then and I can't find anything that fits so well hence changing where I shop!

  • Can't believe I missed another Tilly party! Flipping weekend working :o Would love a little tipple but diet says NO so I will drive for the rest of you.

I've never been too clothes conscious unless I can get a bargain and then I only shop out of necessity rather than just 'cos I feel like something new'. Luckily I don't have to dress myself for work - of course I get dressed by my self I mean we wear a uniform so that takes a lot of the aggrevation away from deciding what to wear on a daily basis. Pjs are one of my most important purchases and pretty much a uniform at home at this time of year. I have not yet resorted to going out in them although I did go to the physio in a track suit not ever intending to exercise. I'm rambling now so to finish.......

I have to keep the goal secret as Mr T doesn't know yet and he reads my diary :p
But now he knows you HAVE a secret goal...... watch he doesn't torture it out of you - he might threaten to buy some clothes or something if you don't tell him :rotfl:. 2Q==

Had a great evening. Saw an MSE chum for a quick catch up, then whizzed off to the cinema. Can't beat a free night out, but it did cost me a £5 as the kids had to go out as well!

Very close to payday so excitement is building :j

I'm not drinking....9 months and counting :D haha :rotfl:

Now chocolate on the other hand :o
  • Evening, no money updates at all to give as no account activity since my shrapnel move this morning. Payday tomorrow so will shuffle H@lifax monies around and back.

I think I may have to print out my diary and read it from start to finish (can I cope I wonder), as there are things I need to be doing again, like pre-paying BT line rental for twelve months. It will be the 2nd year of doing this so worth the effort, and I will OP the difference :)

Wednesday tomorrow so over mid week for anyone abstaining until Friday evenings :rotfl:

    Best wishes Tilly

  • Evening Tilly! I have just poured myself a glass of wine, so I can't admit to being one of the abstainers... but am impressed with everyone's efforts on that front!

We have prepaid our BT line rental for 2 years now as well - well worth doing. One thing to note is that if you prepay the line rental later than your bill for quarterly advance line rental is issued, you will be charged for the next 3 months, which you'll also have paid as part of the prepaid year (am I making sense?!) I noticed this on our bill the other day, and called up to query it - they immediately refunded the billed quarterly rental. I also noticed a couple of 0845 numbers (which are included in our calls) had been charged for - queried these two and they were also refunded. They'd also charged us for a call redirection service that we set up when we went on holiday, but it didn't work so we never used it - I complained about this and the full cost of the redirection was also refunded!! I usually avoid speaking to BT at all costs as it's usually so frustrating, but this time it was well worth doing!
