Morning, lodger money OPd, no shrapnel to OP. No cooking whatsoever this week due to batch cooking frenzy this weekend. Free movie this evening :T
The Tilly band need to sort the garage again. Half of it acts as a larder and every couple of months or so it needs a sort out. Will have a go at fitting this in tomorrow evening.
Have a great week. I have committed not to spend anything until the weekend. I have a secret mortgage balance goal to achieve by end of this year so am on a mission :rotfl: Unlikely to achieve but gives me something to aim for.

Always good to have a goal, especially a secret one! Lucky you with no cooking to do - I spent the entire weekend cooking, but it was for guests and sadly there are no leftovers!!

Bit late to the party but I can't understand people who say they have no money but swan around in £200 dresses and coats. I struggle to spend £20 on a dress!
Good luck with your secret goal. I have a not so secret goal which involves saving another £400 and not using any of my savings but I don't think its going to happen unless I have a lottery (which I dont do!) win!1 -

I have a secret goal too
. It's so secret I don't even know how I'm going to achieve it :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I don't wear £200 dresses and coats most of the time but I do have some very nice dresses around the £100 mark. However I never buy myself anything and they get worn on a regular basis and last so I don't mind too much. I have a lot of friends who treat themselves very regularly to clothes and because they don't necessarily cost much they don't notice but I reckon they spend more than me through the year! I am trying to go to different shops to cut my costs but haven't found much I like which has had a good effect...I haven't bothered buying anything.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1130/£1200

I do the same, I tend to buy slightly more expensive stuff but I will get comments from people about how nice something is, and occasionally it's something that I bought after my son was born (9 years ago ).
I too have tried cheaper places and it has the same effect on me, I haven't bought anything at all....:rotfl:

I actually like shopping cheap - often i will wear a "supermarket dress" and jazz it up with heels and people always comment on how nice it looks - plus you can guarentee that no one else will have it on!!!
I do like to push the boat out with jeans though as i am a funny shape, long legs, small waist and child bearing hips!!!
Cheap shopping can be as good as expensive shopping - but knowing me id trash the dearer one first!!Dec 2011 £141,000 / dec 2013 £135,000/ Jan 2014 £131,000 / July 2014 £129 0001 -
Evening, Mr T was only saying yesterday that he hasn't had any new clothes, at all, since we were in the US in October last year :rotfl: I felt so bad but not bad enough to buy him anything :T. Please bear in mind that he has more clothes than I do
NSD and in the office. Sorely tempted by choc machine but no purse means no money, means no snack machine :T
I actually still have some clothes from when my daughter was born and she's 16 now. Classical cut and lovely fabric so makes sense as they don't date, like MoneyCurious I just jazz up with scarves, jewellery etc.
Another interesting conversation today. One of my male colleagues loves shoes. He regales us with tales of his shopping adventures in a way which I cannot do justice but then moans about the credit card bill. I suggested he save up and buy them with cash, I knew I should have kept quiet when I saw the look of horror cross his face :rotfl: Mr Ts last pair of shoes was bought about 4 years ago :rotfl: sorry too many smiley faces but I was helpless with laughter.
I have to keep the goal secret as Mr T doesn't know yet and he reads my diary
Off to the movies for a free night out.
Have a god evening Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:
