I must confess to already having bought my parents' present, and some of the stocking gifts for the kids too. The difficulty is that there are rather a lot of birthdays between now and then (8, including mine and Giraffe's) and I need to sprt them put first before I get carried away with Christmas stuff.
At least our tree will have matching decorations this year - last year I bought a bunch of decs in the January sales reduced by 75%they match the living room. Looking forward to putting those up! Gave our old ones to my sister.

Hi Tilly, Cazzie and Ammonite,
In my head I'm organised for Christmas - as in I know what I'm getting everyone, I just need to get on and buy it!!! Also not spending Christmas eve/day/boxing day at ours so that takes the pressure off food shopping, blitzing the house and making beds!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.1 -
You guys sound so organised.. this christmas I really don't have a clue what to buy anyone
I don't even have a lot of people to buy for but i've hit a brick wall on ideas..
We moved house on xmas eve eve last year so everything was such a rush i didn't have chance to enjoy, hopefully this year will be more relaxed!
Can't believe it's only 13 weeks away! :eek:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.1 -
I shala_moo - I know exactly what you went through. We moved into our house 4 weeks before Christmas and it was manic! I've kept a notebook list throughout last year and this with ideas based on conversations/observations of the various people I buy for... so it's made the thinking part easier. I know I'll spend loads of time getting exactly the right thing or looking for the best price instead now!!!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.1

I have decided on DH and that is it. Everytime I get ideas for other people DH tells me they are silly. I might look on the internet tonight for ideas.MFW 2025 No. 7 £1931.07/£2700

Evening all, Xmas planning seems to be on everyone's minds. I know who I need to buy for, but still need to make a list of gifts I have and who to 'bestow' them on. Now wondering if that is grammatically correct
It will be a slightly different Christmas this year but I will try to hang on to remaining relatives

I keep being reminded by the children that Christmas is approaching. They have remembered that Father Christmas brought each of them a tube of jelly beans last year! I do love buying all of the presents, but am determined to do it a little more thriftily this year - I don't mind buying a special present for close family and friends - OH and I both have very small families, and we do not go over-the-top with the children's presents. I do however usually end up panic-buying something expensive and not quite right for aunties, uncles, cousins etc. With a little forward planning, I should be able to make some very nice gifts for people who are otherwise tricky to buy for. I've done lovely decorated Christmas cakes on several occasions before, but I'd like to find something a little more original this year. The planning is such good fun!November 2007 £570k 25 years - MF March 2033

Not a great fan of Christmas here, but do like a week off work :T.
Having said that, I saw the perfect present for you today Tilly, while I was looking for a birthday present. I really did think of you when I saw it, it was so perfect I bought it for myself.
:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug Ho ho ho Merry Christmas to me :snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laugA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

Morning CA, the Tilly family Christmas is going to be very different as historically we were ridiculous. That's not happening again. Kids are well primed that we live a different life now, and I need to do some thinking about DS. The Christmas cake idea is excellent.
Hope all is going well - how did the menu planning go?
