  • Morning, another few days to payday.

    NSD ahead.

Weather really has turned but I haven't checked weather forecast. I am hoping for a reasonable weekend. We will be volunteering on Sunday for longer than normal and all outside. I don't fancy doing that in the rain.

Lunches made, dinner to be cooked between calls today.

I do need to turn my focus to Christmas given the speed with which it is approaching. Gifts are going to be difference for everyone this year. We are buying the kids one biggish gift each, but a very strict budget on anything else. This is when we normally splurge a lot of cash but as our focus has changed, we are investigating free / lower cost things to do as well. That is apart from the pantomime :T.

The free money from S&S, surveys etc will come into its own. In total we are close to £500. ( Boots, Nectar, amazon). On top of that is CC points equalling £250 ish, which I guess Mr T will dish out in time for Christmas. This is the first time ever, where we have focussed attention in this way and now have £750 ish to pay for Christmas, without having to touch real money. None of that would have been achieved without this site, so thnk you :money:

Next focus is to decide a few things for 2013. I average at least 1, sometimes 2 trips to the cinema FOC per month, normally. I am going to start 'paying' for these trips and OPing the money. I am definitely doing the same with coupons for shopping, which I have toyed with this year, but have not been consistent. I will be redoing the spreadsheets to allow for this, and will be tracking where our cash goes as well, separately. A little work for the weekend :)

That's all for now, have a good day and almost the weekend.

    Sun is out now

    Tiily x

  • Hi US, I should have posted last night but forgot. MRN and i were PMing last night, and that's a done deal :)

What a muppet I am not to realise you could do that :(

Now I need to find more willing chums.

I followed one of your posts on 'small things to etc' - would you share which threads you find the most useful for glitches? I see the Tesc@ ones, but you referred to MrA and I rarely see any for there.
You seem completely on top of vouchers/glitches and that is something I want go improve on.

    Thanks, Tilly x

Well done Tilly! I save all my eBay money up for Christmas but have LOADS to list at the end of the month/early October to boost the funds. I'm definitely cutting back this month. The main spends are on the parents which I'm loathed to change really because they are so good to us and we don't have loads of people to buy for and they don't have many people who give them presents. We spend around £100 each on them which totals £400 so that is where the main money is spent on christmas. We will obviously be buying the bambino a few things but not going too crazy as it will be too little to understand, I would rather buy things for it through the year as I figure out what it needs/wants to play with.

I AM SO EXCITED FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!!!!!!
  • Hi Ammonite, with the weather changing the way it has I may be able to get some winter stuff on during the next free listing.

Don't worry I love Christmas too and a nightmare to live with. The child in me certainly comes to the forefront :)

    Best wishes Tilly

  • Evening NSD achieved - we seem to be banking a few at the moment which is good news.

I don't feel as though much has been achieved today but at least the ironing pile has gone and most of the washing is up to date.

Dinner this evening was bruschetta to nibble on, then poached bargainous salmon, salad and roast bargainous new potatoes.

Will put my feet up and have a cuppa then an early night.

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • Hi MRN, I could not believe it was Friday when I woke up :rotfl:

I truly do not know where the weeks are going and I feel as though I am multi tasking to the point of imminent disaster.

However, it is now Friday evening. I have made lovely nibbly bits to have with a glass of wine - thanks to a bit of cheese lurking in the fridge, garlic, oil and chilliies and an oven Mmmmmmmm. I had a French stick which was definitely a wee bit dry, so finished it off last night and tonight. Does everyone have the same reaction to Friday? Glass of wine, nibbles and catch up with the family - lovely.

So where are we today. Spending has been cut dramatically and I think I will have an extra £1100 left by payday and no, I am not OPing it. I am keeping it in the offset in case I have miscalculated and an unexpected bill arrives. 1 working day to pay day :T

Shopping is likely to be free this week. I have a Sainsbobs voucher to use up, which is about to expire and I don't need much anyway.

I take a huge amount of satisfaction from looking at the freezer list, knowing there are good quality home made meals, plus meal ingredients. I may sound quite mad, but it definitely makes me feel like a good provider - I have only had 1/2 a glass of wine, so I am not waxing lyrical.

Have a fab weekend Tilly x

I love Christmas too. I love to dress the house and make a good meal rather than focus on the presents. As this house is bigger I would really like to get a tree for the hallway.
