Morning, NSD achieved yesterday. Today definitely won't be as I am meeting a friend for a drink. Can't let MFW wipe out my social life and looking forward to a good catch up.
Ironing sadly not finished, my ironing mojo has disappeared.
Unexpected £225 windfall so that is banked and OPd.
TCB and £co has around £57 in pay out but goodness knows how long that will take. I had considered closing £co as the £5 charge irritates me plus they are sooooo slow. It is still free money which I would not have had otherwise so will probably keep it going as the check ins, cash bank in stores etc is helpful.

Hi Tilly,
Approaching 4 years in our house and in MFW status!
Speaking of £co... (took me a few seconds to decipher!) I've been owed cashback from a buildings and contents insurance for over 10 months! Nearly time to get start looking for the next year's insurance!!! I'm not with TCB but if they're faster I will think about migrating!MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.1 -

I will look at the vantage account, I haven't heard of that one. I am finding it a difficult decision and it is definitely down to emotions not logic. I know the sensible approach is to realise as much cash wherever it is from, but my need to see the numbers come down seems a difficult barrier to overcome. Even Mr Tilly has the same view which makes it doubly difficult. We sat and discussed it this evening funnily enough so I guess it is at the forefront of our minds which is a start.
The heating :eek::eek: don't tell my kids - I refuse to put ours n until 1st October earliest :rotfl:

Hi MRN, wish I had found this site back in 2004 (not sure when it started) as we really would have been MF by now.
I find TcB much swifter than £co, I stole that from Mr Froggy, so I can't claim it as my own. I have decided to stick with them but will only use them when I can't use TcB.
Good luck with the insurance, that is pretty frustrating and hopefully they wil pay out before you have to renew/move.

Hi Peonie, it is so frustrating isn't it. I am literally changing my mind over and over about what makes the most sense to me. Mr Tilly is pushing to keep paying down the capital as the mortgage is so mahoosive. The interest saved would be hundreds and that doesn't seem enough to push us towards changing.
This is Money have a good savings calculator so you may want to look there. I am on an iPad and struggle with links

Wednesday evening, Friday is getting closer :T
Much lower spend as my friend bought the drinks to say thank you for some help I gave her - what a lovely surprise. I genuinely believe that helping others helps change our lives. At some points we all need help and you never know who will offer a helping hand to you when the time comes.
Working from home tomorrow and need to make dinner at some point during the day.
It's really turned chilly today - I am ignoring pleas for heating, "put a sweater on" is becoming a popular phrase.
